I can't blame Kirby for wanting to keep the focus on the task at hand. It was a statement to the team. The job's not finished. Don't celebrate yet.
Keys to rematch and a Dawgs victory:
- Must have a disruptive pass rush on Young. Auburn and Cincy were able to accomplish that.
- Protect Stetson and give him time to throw. Stet tends to make the bad decisions when he is being overly pressured.
- Secondary has got to tighten up coverage and stop the big plays. Big plays killed us in round 1.
- Capitalize on Red Zone opportunities. We were in the Red Zone 3 times in the 2nd half against Bama and came away with zero points. And against Michigan, we forced 3 turnovers and came away with zero points off of them. You cannot waste opportunities and survive against the Tide.
Bama beat Cincy on the ground. We still can't forget about Brian Robinson.
We've seen this movie before. We've run this race before and ridden this horse many times. It's time to get 'er done!!
