Nick Saban poised to keep Alabama coaches step ahead of Kirby Smart and Georgia
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Nick Saban has been down “Rematch Road” before, back in 2011 when Alabama and LSU staged a rematch of their SEC Championship Game in what was then a BCS-governed title matchup.

Sort of a click-bait headline.
Alabama had two clear advantages in the SECCG.
2- psychological advantage – it was an elimination game for Alabama. Georgia knew they were “In” no matter the result.
Second: Yummy Rat Poison was a very real thing for Georgia, and the players were enjoying every bite.
The weird point spread won't be a factor this time. Before the SECCG, all the GA players were hearing was how good they were and how Bama had lost and how bad they looked against Auburn.
Since the SECCG, all the GA players have heard is how bad they looked against Bama. Can they beat Bama?
This time, Saban has to convince his players that Georgia is even a threat...
Not to excited to watch this game, I think its going to be same result, different day! I'm ready to be hurt again!
Nick...listen up old buddy.....you are going down this round.....down. I do not care a whit what the pundits say..or the point spread for UGA.....or the rat poison or anything....this is WAR...and you are going down. I have confidence in UGA this time.....different team has emerged, better than the 12-0 season team. I saw heart against Michigan...resolve...attitude.....ferocity....cohesiveness....Dawg swagger like I have never seen. Coaches and players on the same page....communicating...getting it done! Carry this into Jan 10 and you will wear the CFP crown. It is going to happen.
Agree, but that’s @MikeGriffith ’s style. Don’t let it get to you. 😉
Buck up, @My_Dawg_Ryan , it is going to be okay! 🤗
Kirby and company need to be ready to make substantial adjustments multiple times during the game. This is an area where Saban excels. Need to be prepared to beat him at his own game.
We’re going to have to figure out how to get QBs pressure. If we can’t, we’ll get torched again.
Cincy took away Willaims as a deep threat but in doing so theyallowed Robinson to average about 8 yards a touch.
Our run stoppers can't get to the QB(not Young anyway) and that means we'll have to blitz more leaving the crossing routes and the middle open. Hope we can get there, but then Young just tucks it and runs.
THere is no way to win this game unless SB and the offense score 35 points. I think the fdefense will hold them under 32 this time. Maybe better but I don't want to be in a close game with Young getting the last possession. We need to score and keep on attacking. Give up trying to run twice up the middle and now you're 3rd and 8.
There’s no one way to beat bama Kirby has to coach and adjust for 4 quarters
Anyone else notice how high up the logos are on Smart's shirt? LOL
GA will look totally different against Bama this time around. That SEC Championship game exposed Bama's strength and weaknesses and gave us a better look at how we should scheme against them. We saw them at their best against us, but they haven't seen us at our best against them. In essence, we traded the SEC Championship title, for the National Championship title AND....future victories against Bama. Sometimes you have to sacrifice a little to gain a lot. Coach Todd Monken wouldn't have been very successful at the NFL level without knowing the art of war. LSU tried to pry him away from GA and he refused. He and coach Kirby Smart will make a great tandem for a long time to come. If coach Monken says Stetson Bennett is the QB that gives us the best chances to win, you better believe it. I have full confidence in him. GO DAWGS!!!
