If we don’t fix this WR thing, and while we’re at it this QB thing, it will be a long time before we see another Natty. We had a generational D this year and those only come around once every decade or so. Despite the new WR coach, if relying on the D is our standard operating procedure as a program then I’m not optimistic about future championships. Listen to the words of these elite WRs, they should be convicting and alarming and I’m concerned they are not.

the Stewart conversation didn’t make much sense to me. Because of what Jeff pointed out about TAMU’s offense and their receiving leaders. Mark my words in this world of NIL , atleast one of these listed guys will transfer before their college career is over

i wanna see Ladd and AD have over 1,000 yards in a season.

This offense without 5 star receivers averaged 39 points per game. You don't need a generational defense to win a Natty averaging 39 points per game.

KBP, the D was probably responsible for at least 10 points a game due to short fields, turnovers and D scores. That won’t be repeated every year. That’s why a more dynamic O and 5 star WRs and QBs are critical.

With playing 4 cupcakes/high school teams helped average 39 ppg. Take away those 4, UAB, Charleston Southern, GT and Vandy, and without the defense and special team points, really only averaged around 32 ppg. Still not bad with the type of defense UGA had. But can't rely on that every year.

WRs have to see a promising offensive philosophy. Right now, it looks more favorable to running backs and TEs. Therefore, WRs don't see UGA as the place to be. But we will convince another top WR in time.

@budknox310 Wrong. The ppg are misleading because UGA didn't have a reason to score more because of the leads and the generational D. If you were to watch those games, the Dawgs put the offense in cruise control. FYI - Most teams pad the ppg against inferior teams.

Randyglass14, the defense is supposed to get stops. A short field does not automatically end with points. The offense did its job as the defense did.

Budknox310, take away Bama's 4 cupcakes and their ppg average would decrease also.

I seem to recall a lot of teeth gnashing during the recruitment of Arik Gilbert a few years ago that Georgia will not get elite tight ends because they are not used in the offense. Everyone pointed to the limited production of Isaac Nauta as evidence. Perhaps the real issue is that elite talent will be able to thrive wherever they go?

We won the Natty... nuff' said.

It's simple Monken is going to call the offense based on the talent at hand. If he has a great receiver, he will get plenty of targets. When he has the best TE in the nation, that player will get the proper volume based on his production.

Monken's offenses have been very productive, some with more run first concepts. Others were much more pass first based on the talent at hand.

B-Mac should make a difference as new wide receivers coach. Great recruiter. Recruits do not yet look at UGA as a passing offense. IMO.
