Was at florida before this. Only read that he and his family wanted out of fu because it had gotten really toxic and started affecting his kids. Don't know much else about him as a coach
can confirm after a quick twitter read the fu fans are actually very toxic towards his family. "If he cared about fans being mean to his kids he should have coached better." is a common sentiment for them
This could be fun especially if he finds more success in Athens !
That’s the only silver lining to this otherwise underwhelming hire.
did you expect anything else from Georgia Basketball?
Well, I had hoped with a new AD things might change.
We were allegedly in talks with the Baylor coach, so it’s not like they weren’t aiming high.
I think he could turn out to be a better higher than we give him credit for.
true but that was never going to happen
Why do we keep going after other schools rejects? Why not take a chance on some of the names mentioned? There is just as much talent in basketball as there is in football. Why wouldn't we want a good state of Georgia recruiter? It's almost as if we really aren't interested in a winning basketball program. Hey, I'll be positive because maybe the powers that be knows something I don't.
Unbelievable and yet so expected at the same time…..
Well, at least this guy has a winning record coming in and has not been sitting out a year like the last hire.
Why is he the choice?
This could be a better silver lining…
Would be great to get him back in the fold as an assistant. That would be okay by me! Could be a huge recruiting asset!
Go Dawgs!
This is also a good point.
