Make the goobers come play us in Atlanta for the next several decades to return the favor. We’ve played them in Jacksonville for as long as I can remember. Make their @$$ travel up here and play us for a change. Of course, I’m only about an hour from Jacksonville and would miss seeing all the Dawgs swarming to the Islands here in my hometown of Brunswick every year. And it’s closer for me to go the Ga/Fla game. But I’ve never thought it was fair to us to have to go down there every year. Of course them goobers don’t want it to move.

    SCREW THEM GOOBERS!

    GO DAWGS!

It cracks me up to hear Jacksonville referred to as a neutral site. NE Florida is ground zero of the UF fan base, nothing neutral about it other than roughly split tickets. Go Dawgs!

I think the game would be so much better with a home and home to travel to gainsville and to have the lizards come to sanford stadium. the atmospheres and energy would be insane and so much better. for both fan bases. IMO

Bring the game to Athens for UGA’s home game! If UF decides to have their home games in Jacksonville, the ticket distribution will still be 50/50 or better in favor of the Dawgs. As it is now, UF fans only stick around for three quarters of the game.

Besides, Kirby wants our game in Athens. I’m all in on giving Kirby anything he asks for!

The fact that Strickland wants it so bad tells you who it benefits the most. CKS doesn't want it. An extra recruiting weekend every other year is an advantage no matter if it is 3 or 4 (4 is greater than 3 ! LOL)

Do you see Saban giving up a home game and recruiting weekend every other year?

The bigger issue may be the revenue lost by Athens and the state every other year. Time to end the 1 sided nature of playing every game in FL.

How cool would it be to see FU at Sanford? How cool would it be to go into the swamp and kick some gator tail?

UGA owes it to Athens and the state.

Well what else do you expect him to say as the AD of the flagship university in FL? Truth is, it takes two to tango and Kirby has made it pretty clear that he ain’t down with the status quo. If you are a big Dawg fan who loves going to Jax, you better enjoy it the next couple of years cause likely things are gonna change.

This was on an earlier DawgNation post:

“Here’s a look at how much UGA will make in ticket revenue from each game this season, per the budget released on Friday at the Ritz-Carlton Lodge on Lake Oconee:

    • Oregon (Mercedes-Benz Stadium), $4.25 million

    • Samford (Sanford Stadium), $3.51 million

    • Kent State (Sanford Stadium), $3.5 million

    • Auburn (Sanford Stadium), $5.1 million

    • Vanderbilt (Sanford Stadium), $4.85 million

    • Florida (Jacksonville), $3.5 million

    • Tennessee (Sanford Stadium), $4.97 million

    • Georgia Tech (Sanford Stadium), $4.89 million

The variation in ticket revenue is related to ticket prices and allotment.

The neutral-site Florida game pays $3.5 million to each team, creating revenue in years where UGA is the designated road team.”

Interesting more revenue expected in neutral location organ game in Atlanta v Florida game in Jacksonville.

Here are my choices when the contract runs out:

    1) Home and Away - no more neutral site. Give Kirby another day (every other year) to work his magic. Doesn’t matter what schedule model SEC chooses. What doesn’t change is CKS loses a day to recruit. Not acceptable. AD Stricklin saying, “I think with the Florida-Georgia game in Jacksonville, you’d have four at home every year, which really kind of cleans that up,” Stricklin said. “Because some years we have three, and other years we have four.” shows FL still hasn’t figured out, even with the departure of Coach Mullen, the importance of recruiting. Reminds me of a Georgia Florida meme I once saw that read, “You can’t fix ****.”

    2) Move game to Atlanta. Atlanta isn’t Athens as much as Jacksonville isn’t Gainesville. UGA fans have had to watch UGA play FL IN FL for a long time. Let’s return the favor for the next 10 years or so. I’m just going to a swag at this and say FL would never agree. Of course they want to keep the game in FL. As Spurrier said it is a home game for them. I can’t believe we are still debating this.
