Prognosticating All-American at the end of the year:

    1. I'm sure we'll all be disappointed if Brock and Jalen don't end up on the 1st team... and would ne really happy for Darnell or Arik to made it onto the 3rd or 4th team.
    2. It's odd for Chris Smith to make 2nd team while Nolan Smith didn't make ANY team. Nolan may have been overshadowed by the rest of last years great front seven. But Steel should still have on pre-season team 2.
    3. If Tykee Smith has an incredible comeback, we could end up with three Smiths on All-American teams.
    4. We're more likely to end the season with Jones, Van Pran, McClendon and/or Mims as All-Americans than Erickson. No disrespect to Erickson; it's just that we've got that much potential talent on the OL.
    5. With a really good season, Milton or McIntosh could end up on the 3rd or 4th team -- but it'd have to be REALLY good.
    6. Same with Bennett -- in which case he'd finally get the recognition he's earned.

Warren Ericson? Not trying to slight the young man, but Warren Ericson?

    @MikeGriffith

You're gonna want to hang me for saying this, LOL, but I think Phil Steele is a hack. He never played the game in his life. He's just a glorified fan with a magazine. He is an OSU/MICH FANatic. In addition to the special consideration he gives the BIG10 and his favorite schools, he knows absolutely Zip about the SEC.

He was also on the "Mackey Award" committee that gave the award to a CSU TE...ridiculous!!!

His only knowledge of SEC teams, is limited to the flashy thing in Alabama. And, I've got news for you, BAMA probably won't win their division this year, much less the CFP. The media has just come to automatically put all their marbles on BAMA every year, and maybe rightfully so; however, by doing that, they're taking their eyes off the ball.

Other teams in the SEC aren't standing still...a lot of them have caught up to Alabama, as evidenced by BAMA losing 1 conference game last year and nearly losing 4 others to FLA and AUB...not to mention a depleted LSU team and an upstart ARK team. All that, with BAMA having a Heisman winning QB, a 1st round WR and Will "the best player in America" Anderson. This year, the WR and OL groups are suspect, TE is avg to above avg, RB is about the same as last year with the Gibbs transfer and the defense is solid, but, not deep..

Looks like the only reason for all the attention is the BAMA name with the Saban stamp. I'm not buying it, this year. Saban is losing steam, much like Bear Bryant in '78, '79 and '80.

I can't think of one time Kearis Jackson didn't make the play. Kearis, this is YOUR time. Step up and motivate the young guys. If they play with half your heart, WE WILL NOT LOSE.

Kearis is going to earn 1st or 2nd round consideration this year. Mark my words. That kid is talented and everything is set up for this to be "his year".

People don't seem to understand, that unlike what Griffith says...."Todd Monken’s offense is based on what the opposing defense is giving"

Monkin, actually "designs his offense" on the available talent. His Game Plan and Play Calling is based on what the opposing defense is giving.. And, this year, his options are limitless. Let your imagination run wild...I guarantee you he's licking his chops. LOL

The available talent is the best he's had since he took the OC job. It's just not where everybody expected it to be. The WR, TE and OL groups. With a double tap on the TE group. Look for a host of 3 and 4 TE sets, with throws to the TE's/RB's and Jackson, Smith, Mitchell, McKonkey or Blaylock. One-on-one mismatches galore, end-rounds, counters, misdirections, slip screens and your standard run/pass plays...what is an opposing defense going to focus on??? LOL...forget about it. This is going to be a fun year to be a Dawg.

The QB is perfect for the offense they're gonna run. But, it's not an offense most sportswriters understand. Hell, nobody's seen it before, so, that's understandable. I expect UGA to get BVG involved in the offense, early and often. If he can get a little in-game confidence and experience, he'll be as good or better than Bennett. When you have a mobile QB, that likes to run with the ball...you're always at risk of losing him to injury. Look what happened to ATL when Micheal Vick went down in a preseason game. Their season was over.

****...I can't wait for Sept 3. I bet Lanning is dreading it. LOL
