BA touched on something I have been thinking about lately. How recruiting may have changed for UGA. Recruiting seemingly in a weird new phase where NIL seems to be the #1 reason for (some? many?) players choosing schools. And CKS saying that players whose #1 reason for choosing a school is NIL may not be the best fit at UGA.
The last 2 seasons, UGA has had slowly developing classes that caused some of us a little trepidation. But CKS proved again that he is an elite recruiter. But this year? Again this year things are slow. It seems "it will (might) be diminished in this new age", BA.
I looked down the Top 20 on Rivals. 10 are committed elsewhere and the other 10 are "forecasted" to places other than UGA. When was the last time UGA didn't have a Top 20 commit?
Top DE Jaden Wayne is committed to ..... Miami? I have faith in CKS but the new NIL dynamic is a little worrisome. BTW , Russaw and DE Smith (?) were at the FU cookout last weekend. "70-75% we'll choose to play at the same school", Russaw. UGA seems to be finishing 2nd more so than usual this year. NIL vs UGA recruiting philosophy?
Prediction for some time during this season. UGA will make a change at QB and open up the O. Difficulty recruiting WR's and QB's needs to be addressed this year by opening up Monken's O for all to see.
Raylen Wilson is going to be a big star. He's a devastating hitter and so fast that he runs back kicks. I think that we're going the be LBU very soon as well. Go Dawgs!!!
