- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Tennessee football sees 18 major violations as ‘speed bump’ entering 2022
ATHENS — Tennessee faces an eye-opening 18 Level I violations, but the Vols have no plans of letting that slow them down.

Interesting that you would place UT in such a positive light considering they are one of UGA's biggest rivals in the East and based on the fact that the program has always been run below board, so to speak. And you only write a few paragraphs about the actual violations, not providing any detail about the violations and then begin singing their praises and talking about what they have done to be on the brink of relevancy again. And odd take for a article nominally about the violations.
UT should be given the proverbial death penalty for lack of institutional control and the sheer number of violations. But they will most likely get a slap on the wrist. The NCAA has no power to enforce the rules. Their enforcement was always arbitrary at best. Heupel is just more UT trash playing the UT trash game. What a sad state and sad university.
I agree with the Tennessee argument that their aggressive investigation should mitigate the punishment. I disagree that their self imposed punishments for 18 Level 1 violations reaches anywhere close to a reasonable punishment. Pruitt's attorney intimates that there are more the investigation failed to uncover. The bottom line is that they knew that they had been caught with exploding dye packs on their hands. They made a strategic decision to come clean because there was no hope in denying it. I don't buy the current players not being punished for past players violations argument. Current players were well aware of the risks, but I am sure that Heupel and other recruiters sold them on the idea that no further punishment was coming. TN fired coaches and some football office staffers, but everyone knows that knowledge of the offenses had to go higher. They cut some scholarships for one season at the beginning of the Heupel era when they were not concerned about winning anyway. No postseason ban. What punishment? The Tennessee athletic department failed to promote an atmosphere of compliance in the football program and monitor staff. That failure was not just on Pruitt's part but is shared by the UT administration from the President all the way to Pruitt.
Only at Rocky Flop.. That 18 level 1 violations are considered a mere "speed bump". It's a bigger speed bump than any mountain you'll find in Tennessee, have fun climbing it..GoDAWGS!
@CDDawgs The link to the violations story is in the text for those who have not followed closely -- this story is about UT reacting to the violations today, that's what is new
Here is the violations story we wrote when the news broke more than a week ago:
"Speed bump." I hope the NCAA smacks the taste out of their mouths. Screw them 'baccer juice swallerin' hillbillies!
UT fans did get some much needed great news today. All the outhouses at Kneeland stadium got a fresh coat of orange paint this morning!
SCREW TENNESSEE!
GO DAWGS!
Wait…did I mistakenly log onto Volnation???
what does this story have to do with Georgia??
Did Volnation (if it’s a thing) run a story about UGA winning the NC?
Agree fully! Did we miss the post season bans??
imagine if this had been UGA…
NCAA sanctions? Is there still such a thing? If 18 major violations is a speed bump why even have rules?
This is a clear case of "let's push the envelope on what we can get away with". Not only on the violations but on the self imposed "punishment".
If you don't enforce the rules you have no rules.
You (Loranwhaddaygot) got that right see Todd Gurley, A J Green etc.😎
I've NEVER been able to understand the anti-UGA bias.
I saw it when I was a kid...it was so obvious.
