    Great article, Connor! Very informative!

Monken seems to answer a lot of the questions people have been asking. His concerns appear to be the same concerns a lot of us have and he understands the solution and how to run it! Very lucky to have Coach Monken!

    Go Dawgs!

I think the old days of only passing when you needed to are gone(or I hope so).Running on 1st and 2nd down and then you're 3rd and long and the defense knows you have to pass and they tee off on you should be a thing of the past. Or the idea of playing scared(which can be called "playing smart") just semantics.

I think last years game with Michigan is the right tone to set for this year. They didn't knw what hit them. Pass, pass, run, screen, pass, run. THere was nothing predictable, the offense dictated to the defense. If you have weapons, and we do, you have to use them, not save them up. ANd of course you have to execute.

All you heard about was Michigan's defense going into that game. It didn't scare us into some timid form of offense. You don't have to thow it 40 times per game, but you need to keep them guessing and on their heels. I loved it last year when teams tried "to establish the run game" against us when they moved the ball better though the air.

In the SECC game BAMA only outrushed us by 6 yards total , but neither team really controlled the ground. It was in the air where BAMA made things look way to easy, and made it a laugher. Williams and Metchie were a 2 headed monster.

I disagree with regard to the NCG and ground control.

When Monkin/Luke moved Salyer to RG and installed Jones at LT, UGA's running game started taking off. They controlled the ground game in the 2nd half. It led to several runs over 10 yds and Cooks long run.

I'll give you this...prior to making that move, on the offensive line, halfway through the 2nd qtr, UGA's running game was practically nonexistent.

Really good to read whats going on inside of Monken's head - he has remained mostly a mystery through much of his time at Georgia. Connor, you did a really good job of bring out his football philosophy - I learned a lot, thank you! Can we get some profiles of these coaches in the future, that informs us of what they are like when not coaching, hobbies, etc...I think that would be an interesting change...thanks for all you do! GO DAWGS!
