Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Kirby Smart provides update on Arik Gilbert, mega-talented player adjusting to Georgia football
ATHENS — Kirby Smart often says he wants his players to be comfortable being uncomfortable, but in the case of Arik Gilbert that only applies on the field.

Gilbert obviously is fragile mentally....still...but physically seems to be acclimating. I truly hope he can become a "team player" as Smart indicated. Arik's problems obviously followed him from LSU. He is a rising star TE receiver....he could really help UGA win games...and likely will according to Smart.
There is no way to know what in Arik’s young life has gotten him into this mental and emotional state. Too many young people in today’s world turn to the most drastic of measures to deal with the pain either harming themselves or others. This is not lost on Kirby, obviously.
Many prayers for Arik! This young man needs Dawg Nation’s love as human beings much more than our applause for athletic achievements!
He seems to be coming along and that is great to hear. I hope he is getting much love and what he needs from his team mates and everyone around him and really hope he is enjoying himself and the ride much more now.
Like the idea of AG playing ST especially preseason. ST reps on kick coverage are extra 50 yard sprints for a player that needs further conditioning if he is to to pull WR game reps later in the season.
Can't help be excited to see this guy!
This guy is going to be killer in the red zone! Excited to see him shine! GO DAWGS!
Please pray for him to get better in every way. He's come so far since he entered UGA and had a great Spring game. The sky is the limit for this talented young man. He's been the star of the team since he was in junior football. Now, he's on a team of stars.
Know this AG from Marietta, great kid and family. Praying for him as @WCH notes would be what he needs from Dawgnation! Trust me he will pay it back 10 fold!
