Awesome game! Now, I'm not trying to be negative, but "looking like the best team in the Nation" is a reach. The score is amazing and it was a very fun game to watch, but there are still things to remember:

    1) This is just the opening game. Just as the Clemson win went from a Marquee win to a "eh, everybody beat them" win the same same be for Oregon. I really hope to see Oregon kicking butt for the rest of the season but I wouldn't be surprised to see them wind up with a losing record.

    2) The defense did well, but it wasn't "lights out" like last year. Last year we kept Clemson to 2 yard running. Here, they were able to make a number of long running plays and accumulate 140 yards rushing. They were also able to get a total of 313 yards on us.

    3) Bennett may not be the best QB in the nation, but he is the ABSOLUTE BEST at doing short yard and middle field plays. The defense couldn't stop those plays so they had no chance against the offense. I only remember one pass that was one that he typically wouldn't like doing (long side-line pass) and that wound up looking pretty ****.

Anyway, that's about it negativity wise. We had 7 penalties but not too many sloppy ones. I only saw Gilbert in once and he made a sloppy penalty. Sigh. Beck didn't have as much time to play, but with 5/6 with the same 11.8 avg and 1 TD - he proved that he should be put in if the other team seems to have Bennett's "number". I can't recall ever really remembering a safety's name before, but Starks... oh man, oh man. Lead the team in Tackles, Solo Tackles, had an amazing INT and almost grabbed a second one. He is going to be a superstar! Also, awesome kick by the Aussie Thorson (disappointed no rugby-kick LOL) - I look forward to seeing him in action more (although not punting till 4th Q was pretty sweet).

We definitely proved those that questioned our team's ability and congrats to the Coaches for doing a fantastic game and preparing them completely for Game #1. There should be some amazing grades in this week's summary.

OK no sarcasm but to me your take is pretty reasonable on most counts. Except your first sentence. As of Right Now why would UGA Not look like the “ Best Team In The Nation” ?? Because Bama beat up on near High School team with Utah St. ?? And at the moment I’m typing this 8:57 PM Ohio St. is struggling mightily against ND. In fact at this moment their down. I Do agree it’s a looong season and things can change. But Keep In Mind the majority of so called “Experts” have said Repeatedly that this game with Oregon would be a Big Test for UGA early. SOME even said it would be the toughest game on UGA’s schedule. So speaking for Me and for Right Now at This time in College Football, Yes I think our Dawgs actually Are the best team in the nation until another team can Prove other wise. These things said had most media been able to curb their Usual Bias against UGA they should have been ranked #1 as the defending Ntl.Champs any way. Regardless of how many of our guys went to the NFL. Had it been Bama half the team could be gone to the NFL or some where and the media folks that drool over Saban would have Still made them #1. As far as Ohio St. it’s almost a ritual. Plug them in some where close to the top ( the media) and Hope and Pray they can live up to the ranking, which they have failed to close the deal time after time. Last thing and again I mean you no sarcasm just My opinion. I think again for Right Now that Stetson Bennett is Just As Good as or Better than any QB in College Football. I could care less HOW he gets the job done, just Get It Done. And he has done that time and time again. Of Course he has to have his teammates doing Their jobs to be successful. ALL QBs do even in the NFL. So For Me until some other team can Prove they are better and same thing for QB. I’m calling our Dawgs the Best Team and Stets the Best QB. Just my take. I’m no expert.

Exactly !! Totally Agree !! It’s almost a ritual for them to plug Bama at the top and Ohio St. and ND close to the top then Hope & Pray that those last two can close the deal Lol !! Their justification for Not putting UGA as #1 was They Say that so many of our best players went to the NFL. Well Bama could lose half their team to Mars and these media folks would Still put them at #1 because of their Love for Nick Saban Lol !! I guess the Dawgs will have to do it like last year and TAKE their respect by Winning !! And I Believe they can !!

Grateful to be at the game…atmosphere was great and we came away sating nothing to complain about. Scoring on 1st 7 drives really?? Looking forward to a great season of continued growth. Mike - last week I heard Finebaum say that he “still didn’t understand why Stetson came back”. Obviously it was for days like today! Stetson loves to play football and he’s pretty good at it too. Why would me NOT want to keep playing as long as he can? Next time you are on his show, you should ask him if he is starting to understand.

Great game all around and what a way to kick off the season. Was it just me or did the running game seem a little lax? May have been strategy to rely on passing more but wondering if the O line can create the push needed to have an explosive running game. On to game 2; Go DAWGS

While I would disagree with anyone reading all that much into Alabama's win last night, Utah State isn't a borderline high school team. They went 11-3 last year, beatinga few PAC 12 teams. I would liken them more to UAB.

Admittedly, Bama did look sharp. It'll be interesting to see if their offense can go the whole season without having to deal with an injury or two. Because we all know what that would mean...

    I swear, last night I heard somebody mention SBIV and Heisman in the same sentence....I checked the stats SB was 80% completion, 368yds, 2 passing TD's & 1 rushing......Stroud 70% 223 & 2 TD's, Young 64% 195 & 5 TD's.....go figure???

Yeah I confess I laid it on pretty thick about the HS team stuff. But my point was two fold. 1) The “experts” or at least many of them had said that Oregon Could be the Dawgs toughest game of the regular season and was Most Assuredly the toughest game of the early games on the Dawgs schedule. And Yet the Dawgs shredded them, so much so that they pulled Bennett with a good bit of time left in the third qtr. if memory serves over 4 min. left. Then they also pulled many of the Ones on both sides of the ball early in the 4th. Imagine had Kirby left all those in ??!!?? He’s probably have lost Dan Lanning’s friendship !! But you get my drift. 2) The “experts” reasoning for placing UGA ( The Defending Ntl. Champs) at #3 preseason was the Dawgs lost so much talent to the NFL. Well had over half of Bama’s team vanished off the face of the earth they would Still plug them in at #1 !! And they Just Gotta plug Ohio St. and ND waaay up there year after year after year. I just want our Dawgs to make them Eat It !! And in terms of Right Now, Today, might change next Saturday for all I know but in This moment in time I see No Reason why one can’t say that the Dawgs are the best team in the land. Yes Bama drubbed Ark St. but on paper at least their not Oregon. And Ohio St. Finally put ND away Very late in the game. I don’t see either Bama or Ohio St. performances being any Better than our Dawgs. I just get sick of the obvious bias toward our Dawgs while Always giving Bama every benefit of the doubt. And of course the Ohio St. and ND folks plug them Up There year after year then Hope & Pray they can fulfill those ambitions. You know since Kirby came to town (No snub to Mark Richt I could go into a lengthy diatribe about how He was snubbed from within and without but I’ll spare you that Lol) KS has won Allot of significant football Other than the Natty its self. One would think it would be the icing on the cake. But No !! Now It Doesn’t Matter what’s going on with Bama, the vast majority of the time their gonna plug them in as #1 or #2. Something has to be very wrong at Bama for the “experts” to plug them in at less than #3 under Saban. And No Way will they put them in at Anything less than #1 after they won a Natty, unless it’s something Very drastic !! Sorry So lengthy !! And you Know I mean no sarcasm at You. Just so sick of the media bias. Go Dawgs !!
