Former head coach and QB guru Dan Mullen shares his take on Stetson Bennett
ATHENS — Count former SEC head coach and QB guru Dan Mullen among those impressed with Stetson Bennett.

Careful, Mike...
Que the naysayers Lol. They’ll knit pick Bennett’s performance. Coach Monken’s play calling. Kirby’s decision making. But for This Dawgs fan that game was just like Kenny McIntosh said FUN to watch !! I thought Stets did Great !! And I was Very pleased with the Team as a whole !! It’s Great to be a Dawgs fan !!
Lol, JT Daniels articles incoming in 3..2..1
I haven’t read what anyone has posted below, but I do hope this article is one that’ll calm people down who want to claim that MG is an anti-Bennett reporter. He isn’t and hasn’t been; he just happens to be the one who tends to report the negative stuff OTHER people are saying about SVIV.
He was also the very first person here to suggest that Bennett was our legitimate number 2 last year (something I didn’t believe, myself, considering Kirby’s comments about Beck).
For all that, it’s weird that we’re taking Mullet seriously now that he’s got something good to say about our program. I mean, he’s right, so there’s that, but I don’t really know what to do with this 😂😂
YES! I watched this game with a buddy, who, by game’s end, claimed the game was over by halftime.
Maaaaaybe.
But! The game continued to be fun! We kept doing new stuff. Facing new challenges and meeting them. Showing new skills. I was actually impressed with Beck’s performance (I got a bad taste for him last year with that lazy pick and lazier follow-up). That goal line stand at the end just reiterated last year’s position: NOBODY gets in our end zone. I’m stoked to see how that mentality is playing out.
PLUS!! Ladd the Impaler (I’m trying to make this hashtag happen, y’all) not only scored our first touchdown, but had so much significant play that sleepers can’t not wake up on him (I’m rooting for this kid Mon-stop).
Ladd the Impaler !! Hey I like that !! Pretty catchy !! With an emphasis on CATCHy Lol !! I liked that young man the very first time I read about Kirby recruiting him !! He has done absolutely Fabulous at UGA !! I’d have to go back and watch my recording of the game but he came within breaking a tackle of making Two TDs in a row !! He caught the ball and was headed for the end zone for his second TD and a guy shoe string tackled him and then KMac if memory serves Did get the TD on the very next play. To Me Ladd is sort of like Stets, doesn’t have the “Pedigree” or the “Prototypical” body build of a high level WR, YET he just keeps producing and producing !! I Love it when a guy that the Know It All’s don’t think has the right stuff comes in and shuts them up !! It shows that guts and determination still mean something !! I’ve seen, you’ve seen, we’ve all seen many times where a guy can come in that Does have all the gifts and markings to think he would be a Great then not be worth a crap !! Why ?? Because of not having the guts, the will power, the sheer determination to Win. Stets and Ladd are examples of young men that want it so badly they Make It happen !! Proud of and for them !! Go Dawgs !! Ladd The Impaler !! That’s Great !! Hope it catches on !!
"Ladd the Impaler"... priceless!!!
I just have one comment to make. If ypu are a highly 4 star or 5 star and want to go to the NFL i would just say don't miss out on playing for Kirby Smart and the DAWGS. He knows how to produce them. But if you want to win, come to GA.
It goes to show that you don't have to have all the stats. Lad The Impaler is a perfect example of that. You got to have Heart and go get it. Very Proud of Him and Stetson. Go Dawgs. Hard work brings good things.
Mike, love your coverage, but I can't imagine too many Dawg fans give a **** about Dan Mullen's opinion on anything Georgia Football. Go Dawgs!
Bennett was effective throwing downfield when needed
That actually ... never happened. The longest pass plays were 38 (McIntosh), 29 (Bowers), 27 (Mitchell) and 25 (Washington) yards, all of which were short or intermediate passes where the pass catchers got half or more of the yards after the catch. Please don't try to redefine the meaning of "deep ball" just because SB IV is the QB. As I said in my previous comments since Saturday, UGA used a very nontraditional passing attack Saturday with more completions to the RBs than to the WRs and absolutely no throws to "tough" areas of the field i.e. vertical passes or intermediate passes from the pocket to outside the hash marks. It was totally bizarre that Lanning and Lupoi made absolutely no adjustments to what UGA was doing the entire game - no changes in personnel, scheme or playcalling - but I guess that is what you get when it is the first game with a staff where no one significant is over 41 years old and the two primary guys - the HC and the OC - are younger than many NFL players. But don't expect SEC defensive coaching to be as accommodating.
OTOH the good news is that no other team in the SEC is going to have enough talent for it to make a difference anyway until UGA is back in Atlanta for the SECCG.
Do not GAS about Dan Mullet or anything he has to say about anything...
Will not tune in to any panel (or show) he is on and do not want him to say the word
Georgia much less comment on our Dawgs!!!
FTMF....

Since when did anybody care one way or another what Dan Mullen had to say? Yeah I know he said good things about Georgia but after last year I think he has become irrelevant. Say good night Dan!
