Talented Spencer Rattler makes South Carolina dangerous, but supporting cast lacking and banged up
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — South Carolina might have a quarterback capable of beating any team in the nation on a given day, but only with a sufficient level of play around him.

Here’s to hoping for a good week of practice. I am hoping the Dawgs settle on a starting five on the offensive line. There seems to be a lack of continuity at this point.
Teams with a “puncher’s chance” have hurt many playoff contending team’s chance at a natty. It should have happened to Bama against Texas. Hopefully the Dawgs will be more inspired against SC than they were vs. Samford.
I'm not concerned about the erratic and inconsistent Rattler. He rushed for -23 yards, threw an interception, and completed only 61% of his passes (a few which should have been interceptions). There's a reason he didn't start as QB for Oklahoma. We do need to find a consistent pass rush. He does not do well under pressure normally. Sounds like the Gamecocks will be a wounded warrior...great time to lay the hammer down! My guess is Beamer will try to establish the run and lean on that as much as possible to eat up clock and keep our offense off the field.
GO DAWGS!!
Who? You make Rattler sound like Joe Montana. He is ok as a qb, but given his OL issues I am not worried at all. Hopefully our DL will continue his sack parade
Good article in my view of it, Mike.
South Carolina tends to be at their peak when we play them. Mostly that's pretty darn good.
Having watched their game against Arkansas yesterday I'm not particularly worried. Kirby knows how dangerous they are. He and the team's leaders will make sure our players are ready. From what Coach said immediately after the Samford game I'd expect the Dawgs to have an unusually physical week of practice. He said our team looked out of shape.
Rattler and his new friends will pay for what Kirby saw and didn't see yesterday on the field in Athens and last week in practice.
Go, Dawgs!
I thought Ark. was going to run away with that game..SC kept climbing back in. They have grit. The Hogs had too much strength at the front in the end. SC was weak defensively.
Good read Mike. I see Rattler as a Better version of Bo Nix but Without the O Line that Nix was Supposed to have ( was the Oregon O Line Really all that good or did UGA’s Defense just make them Look bad ?? I choose the later. So I believe the Dawgs Defense will make the SC O Line look all the more worse than Ark did. Also I have some compassion for the Dawgs Offense ( only a smidge Lol) and what their about to go through with Kirby and Coaching Staff in Practice this week !!! Kirby was Not happy at all with them During and After the game !!! I suspect they will have a grueling week for their half hearted and Sloppy effort vs Samford. But Look it’s I’m very confident extremely hard to get these young guys pumped up vs Samford after a game like they had with Oregon. I know, I know, I hear y’all and totally Agree !! They Should have found it within themselves to got up for that game. But it’s done and in the books. Purely on score 33-0 ain’t to bad. I mean Samford didn’t even come away with a FG. But our Dawgs Will Need to be Very Up vs SC this Sat. Not because SC is any where close to being as good, but because it’s a Home/Pride game for them and if our Dawgs play sloppy ball and turn the ball over to them it’ll give SC hope and confidence. And hope coupled with confidence playing in front of their home crowd IF our Dawgs Are playing sloppy could be Dangerous !! Even vs an inferior team !! BUT I’m confident in KS and the Coaching Staff will “help” them to remember the long term goal !! Whew I bet the guys on Offense will wish they Had played a better game by about this Thursday !! Go Dawgs !!
