I haven't looked, but I bet their yard per carry is down this year. They aren't blocking well - or as dominant as in the past.

Did you read the article. If so, you missed one of the main point. Probably two.

    Go, Dawgs!

Did this article tell the yards per carry between the last several years? How about 30 plus yard gains? Did the dawgs bust a long run I missed, like they use to do with Gurley, Sony, or Chubb. No. Maybe you are missing my point. I know we can throw it, but we aren't getting a great average even against a B school like Samford. Stop being a homer. The O line needs to improve.

I have no concerns about the O-line at all and the rushing stats would be better if McIntosh had stayed inside on a few runs instead of bouncing outside. Milton has missed a few holes too. Finally, it's just a two game sample size AND with the way Bennett is slinging it, we may not be a dominant running team this year.

BINGO.....I finally get it and I must agree with Kirby, practice is paramount.....good practice week, good game....great practice week, great game...the more you practice the better you can get...we have the talent and leadership all we need each week is elite execution and practice can make perfect. Being the top team, every opponent comes into each game ready to give us their best. Each day of Practice provides an opportunity for each player to hone his skills by competing against the best opposition and correcting previous mistakes...it all works if and only if each player brings the right attitude to every practice ....Coach Smart is quite adept at motivating the right attitude and that why we are the best.

Pass blocking has been good (Samford ) to very good (OR). Run blocking? Not so much. Mention all the pre-snap reads, OL rotation and "combo block" failures(?) you want. Run blocking is typically mano a mano. UGA has not been blowing guys off the LOS. Surprising considering the size UGA brings to the LOS. Also surprising considering OL coach SSearels reputation as a run blocking guru based on the running success of the teams he's coached.

The substitution has been good for keeping guys fresh and developing depth. Cross training McClendon at LT gives you an experienced swing tackle should BJones miss some time. Don't forget preseason 2nd team LT EGreene has been hurt necessitating this rotation scheme.

Red zone success is the key. TD's vs FG's. Red zone success comes with a dominating OL and run game. Lack of success against Samford still hard to believe. Some failures were due to QB inaccuracy (DWash running free across the back of the endzone) and some due to Samford DL wanting it more than UGA OL.

UGA OL will be coached up and improve as the season progresses. Safe to say if that is true the same can be said for the AL OL also loaded with 4* and 5* players.

No matter how Kirby try to explain the OL play or how anyone look at the offensive line play the past two games... The bottom line is that Georgia have not had many explosive running plays from the line of scrimmage. You can see explosive running plays from teams around the league. Now if Georgia is using short passes as their running game, then there are questions about the o-line. Probably missed assignments, not sustaining their blocking, or not getting a great push. Right now the run game is not a threat. Unlike the days with Gurley, Chubb, Michel, and Swift. We probably can include Holyfield and Herrien because they had some explosive runs

Outscoring your opponents in the first 2 games 82-3, all while tinkering, experimenting, rotating, and developing your OL, is a pretty good "problem" to have. Make no mistake, they'll be better (and deeper) as we go, including this Saturday. Go Dawgs!

Still early in the season. Some may come from KMcIntosh at some point. MG harped on the lack of long runs all last year during the championship season. ZWhite broke some medium runs for TD's that could have been longer in a different field position. And who can forget the long run JCook had vs AL?

KMilton, DEdwards and BRobinson are not break away type backs. They're not burners. Could they even match ZWhite's 4.47 40 at the NFL combine? Probably not.

Can still grind it out, wear down a D and win w/o long runs. Though seeing a long run (75 yrds) like ZWhite had vs FU in '20 would be very welcome.

Is it me or does Mims look a little lost at times?

I don't like noon games, this is two SEC schools playing a game that matters. At least make it a 3:30 game.
