No surprise here. Arik is obviously not ready to see much playing time on a SEC road game roster. I am really saddened AD Mitchell has to miss because of the Sanford scrimmage. Seems to happen every time. He has been a real spark plug to this UGA team. The ankle is pretty bad.

I'm surprised that these articles are still giving information that was told way before the season started.

Maybe I'm mistaken, but from what I saw, he made a penalty in both games with limited playing time and the second time it looked like Smart was really giving him a heart to heart. I guess his football days may be numbered. Very sad. Hope he's found happiness at least.

Idunno about the Samford game thing. People get hurt all the time. If someone is going to get hurt and be out, I think it's preferable that happens in a game where we're more than prepared for someone else to step up, and then give us the chance to prepare for them to be out for a minute, rather than if, say, he gets hurt at tomorrow's game and we're that much less prepared to make up the difference because only so many people could be on the bus. It stinks all the way around it, for sure, but there are pluses to it happening how it did.

This is more of a case of NOT taking 6 TE's than not taking AGilbert. The other TE's are either ahead of Gilbert on the depth chart or play more special teams. The travel roster is limited.

AGilbert will keep plugging away and will have his day(s). But theoretically that headline/narrative doesn't get as many clicks. Has MG not figured out yet that we're ALL UGA fans here and that we read every article regardless of headline?

I wish continued healing for A Gilbert. Hopefully, he'll find the gear that Kirby is looking for and shine.

Yep..I agree. I wouldn't read too much into UGA leaving Gilbert home on this trip.

I think it says more about Delp, than Gilbert. He may well be a Freshman Phenom on-the-rise.

Arik, you've been blessed with natural gifts beyond what most can dream of, and there is only one person standing in the way of you accomplishing everything your enormous talent enables you to be capable of. You could rewrite the record books at UGA, if you wish. No one expected Bowers to accomplish what he did, but he worked his rear end off and made the most of the opportunity given. Should you do the same, you will never worry about lack of opportunities, for they will be there. Coach Smart only wants to win, and there is but one reason he wouldn't put the most capable, you, on the field when needed. Look in the mirror, and decided to give yourself the chance to fulfill your dreams, for only you can do such. Best of wishes, man. Now go and grab the world by its proverbial footBalls.
