ATHENS — On the third series of every Georgia game so far, Amarius Mims has entered the game at right tackle. The reps have been well-earned for Mims and he’s clearly a key part of the present and future of the Georgia offensive lne.

The most important things to take away from college-- or anywhere during those formative years of a young man's life-- aren't always from the classroom or ball field. Go Dawgs!
Sometimes your grass is greener if you water it… jumping from place to place may some like the trend, but grass isn’t always greener on the other side. Great on Mims for working through it! Shout out to Burton for helping us win the natty but possible he may have regrets? He hasn’t been lighting it up as of now.
This is a good article, but even more a great story. While it's brief, there's a lot to learn here for people, from recruits and player to fans and parents of players. If I used my judgment from when I was 16-19, I'd be in a world of hurt, and at that age I had a lot less on my plate than these talented young men who have been thrown into the spotlight.
Huge kudos to Kirby, his coaches, and the other, more senior Dawgs players who are as much in the business of creating fine young men as they are in the business of winning games 😁👍🙏
Mims made a wise decision to return. He is getting developed and will start next year or this year if there is an injury. He gets to practice daily against quality players. He gets to compete for championships at UGA.
Have to wonder what the players committed to ND, aTm, FU, Cle, LSU, Mia etc are thinking knowing their teams are not contenders for the playoffs this year or in the near future? Some have to be looking at UGA and noticing slots are still available.
Have to wonder what JBurton is thinking knowing he would've been WR#1 at UGA but, instead, being JAG at AL? Have to wonder what is being said among O recruits regarding UGA's suddenly high octane passing game.
I heard a similar quote during a sermon on marriage! "If you think the grass is greener on the other side of the fence, maybe you should water and fertilize YOUR OWN grass!"
Mims has grown up physically...6' 8" 320 lbs... now he's maturing mentally. He made the right decision to remain with the UGA program..he will likely start next season....and be drafted at a higher level...later on.
I’ve been watching his stat lines each week and have come to roughly the same conclusion: Burton is a cautionary tale for the pitfalls of stat-chasing. Maybe it works out for him on an individual level—bc if it doesn’t his transfer will have been a failure—bc it’s irrelevant what ‘Bama does as a team. He reached the apex of team achievement with UGA.
