Georgia football placed five players on the Associated Presses’ First Team All-SEC team on Monday, with Brock Bowers being the lone unanimous selection. Bowers was one of five players in the conference to earn that distinction, along with Tennessee’s Jalin Hyatt, Arkansas’ Raheim Sanders, Ole Miss’ Quinshon Judkins and Alabama’s Will Anderson.

There was a lot of representation on there from teams that didn't win that many games (Florida, Arkansas). Strange.

What a bunch of horse manure. Just a quick glance and I’d take:

    Stet over Hooker

    Carter over Anderson

    Smart over Heupel

    RB - Devon Achane

    AND/OR

    RB - Jahmyr Gibbs

    AND/OR

    RB - Kenny Mac

    OVER/OR

    RB - Quinshon Judkins

    and

    RB - Raheim Sanders

    What am I missing?

Though I imagine that deep down this sort of wounds some of our players egos just a little, not that much. They will All feel much better holding up that National Title Trophy Again !! Hopefully they’ll just use this to motivate them to play all the harder. WE as Dawgs fans ( and their families and friends) Know they are Great and that’s what matters most. Go Dawgs !!

That coach of the year seems like a stretch to me. Smart definitely more deserving and would even put Mr. Faammmm iii. Llllyyyy ahead of Heupel. UT was the media darling all season until reality hit. Let’s see how they do in years 3-5. Most UT coaches start out good in years 1-3, and end up fired in years 5+

    Yeah, experts?

Put a team of all stars together from that list less our guys in a game and I would still take the Dawgs. UGA has the best coached, most physically developed, and most disciplined team in the nation.

Quite possibly, the group of people the least qualified to make decisions concerning college football other than the bean counter university administrators that make up the playoff committee is a bunch of “journalists.”

I've said it before, and it bares repeating....these lists are made by ignorant people that vote for their favorite team's players. No REAL thought or consideration goes into em.

How else can you explain all those BAMA defenders making the list? What?...4 to 5 players off an underachieving BAMA defense make the list? Will Anderson, did nothing to be on the list, this year. I watched him. Yet, there he sits. Lol...SMH.

Let me be very clear....When reporters/commentators, such as Paul Finebaum, say Will Anderson wasn't performing well, due to being double and triple-teamed...well sir, that's FAKE NEWS. He did not face a double team, much less, a triple team, on 90% of the plays I saw.

Jalen Carter, actually had to fight off double and triple teams to impact the opposition's offense. And, is much more effective than Anderson. I watched him, too. I knew there was going to be a comparison at the end of this season.

The reason Anderson had such a good year, last year, is because, Saban was using him differently in the defensive scheme. Anderson was used a hunter or roving LB. He lined up in every technique a defender can line up in.

This year, he was used mostly at tackle, nose and end. When he played on the end or outside the OT...his responsibility was to seal the edge. He didn't track the QB inside, however, Golden would occasionally turn him loose, to pressure the QB. Just, not as often as he probably should have and definitely not as much as last year.

Can you imagine what Carter's "numbers" would be, if all he had to do, was move around the defensive front, and attack the QB?

Bottom line is...These Awards have become "pageants for the hyped". In other words, if the voter hasn't heard the player's name pumped up on the Sunday morning hype sessions, they don't vote for him. And, most of the people doing the "hyping", never played a down of football and have no clue of what to look for and how much value should be put on what they see. Lol

    In other news,

that pic of Brock Bowers makes him look 40.

    😂😂😂

go dawgs! Nothing discredits a list like winning it all. Leave no doubt!

Jahmyr Gibbs?....All Purpose Back? C'mon, man...see what I mean? The only reason he got votes, is because, he's one of only 3 or 4 RBs "they" know exist. Lol

"Dawg Nation" needs to get better at putting UGA Players' names out there on the National Stage. Name recognition is everything in these Pageants. Lol

I personally think the list is fair -- except there is NO WAY Ringo was second team. He made it there strictly on reputation from last year. The other choices look about right. The power of UGA is that it is a TEAM, not just a bunch of individual stars. So while other teams might have individual players who shine, Georgia has a bunch of players who, working together, achieve greatness. That's something that Jermaine Burton, for example, couldn't understand. He left UGA to chase individual greatness, when what really made him stand out was his contribution to the overall team. And when his team looked good (UGA), he looked good. When his team didn't look good (Bama), he didn't look good. Go Dawgs!

the only award that matters is the Natty (now that the SEC title is in hand)
