Worst “update” injury article I have ever read.

Well worst update it may be, but I gathered Ladd and Warren will likely need a miracle to start...the way Smart presented it...17 days away....maybe they will be ok? Knee injuries are among the worst. If they are even moderate, knees take more than a few weeks to mend enough to play hard.

Just imho Ladd will be back. But Warren Mac maybe not. Mims did a real good job of taking his place. I think we’ll be fine. Kirby loves to keep the injury cards close to his chest for as long as possible. That’s a Kirby trademark !! 😀

Ladd I’m guessing will be back. If not, would like to see Cole Speers step in. Similar build and speed.

here’s hoping for a speedy recovery and a boring, short injury list soon

Cutting Ladd's minutes can be mitigated by going 2 TE sets with Washington more, which UGA has already been doing anyway. They also got 2 WRs back that missed most of the season due to injuries also. As for Warren, as mentioned earlier Mims came in and did great. It is excellent for UGA that both of them came back to Athens after initially going into the portal.

As for the injured guys on defense, while it stinks the main thing is that 2 key guys with 1st round pick ability that they would have been needed to defend, Jaxon Smith-Njiba and Treyveon Henderson, aren't going to play anyway, and Stroud isn't the sort of Tim Tebow/Cam Newton dual threat QB who can make up for their absence by rushing for 150 yards himself. And the championship game against Michigan, well the Wolverines basically run the same offense that UGA did in 2017, except their Nick Chubb (Blake Corum) is injured also. So UGA should be fine.

Maybe Kearis Jackson will get more touches/targets... have never understood the dearth there, anyway. Go Dawgs!

Kirby does a great job of advising and counseling his players...and, most of them are intelligent enough to listen to him. I'm sure he advises some to transfer for a fresh start...if they aren't getting it, in Athens. It happens.

IMO...The Dawgs have a "Powerhouse", coming back in 2023...& 2024. I'm not gonna get my shorts in a twist over losing a couple of individuals off of this "team", when, Kirby's entire program, is specifically designed...to NOT rely on individuals...but, "Process".

It's a winning formula, that our US Military has embraced for Centuries. That's why orders & billeting is rotated every 2-4 years. We dealt with the same attrition rate, they deal with in College Football. You are constantly training guys to step up, to replace the older guys leaving and advising and assisting the departures, to ensure they land duties that would advance their career and growth. Lol...or at least, that's the way it used to be.

God knows what they're doing in the "Woke-Force", now. Losing, it looks like, because they got away from what made us the greatest fighting force in the World....cross-training and advanced technical training.

If the 2023 season was a poker game...most of the cards, for the 14 SEC Teams have already been dealt. There's still a few cards outstanding for each team, but, for the most part, everybody knows where they stand, with the "Show Cards". Kirby has everybody beat, just with his hole cards. Lol...why are we talking about next year?

I thought we might get Ladd back for the playoffs but maybe not.

SO let's see, at least we are MUCH better off at the WR position than we were last season. SO, we have WR's Blaylock, Jackson, Mitchell (probable), Smith, Bell, Mews, and Rosemy...plus TEs Bowers, Washington, and Delp....add in RB's Milton, McIntosh, and Edwards. In other words, we have LOTS of potential targets out there that have contributed this season.

I don't see a problem unless none of these guys can figure out how to run a route and get open.

Kirby ain't giving nothing this early so I'm not to overly concerned. OSU will have a long time to prepare for us and they have the athletes so I'm thinking we are going to need a lot of depth.

I would put the 2021 & 2022 version of the UGA Bulldogs up against EVERY Ohio State Fuckeyes Team, I've ever seen. And, that's about 50-55 yrs worth. 😎

There's a Miami, FSU and Nebraska team, I would worry about, on the all-time list. Not to mention BAMA, AUB, FLA, LSU and UT, have had some excellent teams over the years. But, OSU had better be eating Buckeyes with their Wheaties, if they're planning on going toe-to-toe with the 2022 Hairy Ones.

Lmao...OSU may have some players "opt out" after they've had time to study the UGA Game Film.

Brother you sure brought back some memories !! Training guys Up to meet the demand. They didn’t cancel deployments due to lack of qualified personnel back in the day !! I can’t even begin to imagine what it’s like now !! If things keep going in the current direction I can’t see any alternative other than reinstating the draft. The general public just doesn’t realize how Terrible things are right now. On a comparative basis, Seriously, from a manpower standpoint ( oops I used the word manpower, shame on me, problem is I Don’t Care Lol) we are in Worse condition than right after Pearl Harbor !! Seriously. Back then we had Plenty on top of Plenty of young men running over each other to join the military !! The problem Then was a lack of weapons of war. But now we’re lacking in Both, Especially Personnel, less alone Qualified Personnel. You Know. And so do other Vets that come to this site. Our country is More vulnerable than we’ve ever been with the exception of maybe the War of 1812 !! Allot of people say well I don’t care. Well all I can say is if they value their freedom they better Start caring !! Good Lord willing I’ll be 66 in May, and If I had my health, which I surely Don’t, I’d GLADLY go back Right Now if they’d take me at my age If my health Was good. Course I’d probably end up in the brig my first day back for punching one of the young punks in the mouth Lol !! NO I’m Not saying All or even Most of our current military are young punks !! But There Is a very pronounced problem with discipline in today’s military. I’ve read it and heard it from people Who Know, over and over again. And it’s much more pronounced now than in past times. I don’t know what the fix is Now because it’s Been Allowed to go on for far to long. The good people that Are Willing to do a good job and follow the rules are fed up and getting out in droves the moment their term of service expires !! And the service branches are having an Extremely Tough time replacing them !! It’s rather ironic but I just saw This week where the Navy is cutting back on their qualification standards, the Army has to. USAF as I understand it has to. Marines are the only ones who haven’t, Yet, and their contemplating it. God Bless You My Brother !! Thank You SO Much for your service !! And I sincerely with all my heart Thank ALL the Vets that come here. And All the Vets that don’t come here. This country is in deep, deep trouble !! Allot of people Wrongly think it’s just gonna keep going and going forever. Sorry but that’s wishful thinking. We are in Extreme Jeopardy even as I’m typing this !! But Enough of that this is a football site, and I Know most people come here to escape the doom & gloom and that includes me. I’ll close by saying I’m not sure if it CAN be turned around !! We might have passed the point of no return !! Hope & Pray not.

Ladd has tendinitis in that knee. I’m not a doctor by Any stretch. Yes it’s very painful. Yes it takes Time to heal. The best remedy is rest, and anti inflammatory meds plus whirlpool baths with alternating hot & cold. I’m sure Ron Courson is on him. But the thing is he probably Could play. The number of snaps would be what they would have to watch for. And probably be rubbing in some Heat ointment. I don’t think it’s something that requires surgery. And the main aggravation by playing would be just increased pain. Comes game day I imagine Courson and Kirby will ask him how he feels and if he says I’m Good, which Ladd being the gamer he is he probably will. Then we will probably see him. But as you pointed out there are plenty of other guys to go to or should be by then so Ladd won’t have to feel the game is riding on his shoulders. On big Warren I think an MCL is much more serious and it Might be that it’s to much risk to aggravate that injury. I Hope Ladd can be available he would just add more fire power !!

Thanks for your words...and, back atcha Shippie.

As for McConkey, I think they use Him, if they NEED Him. Same with Mitchell, or any of the rest of "The Walking Wounded", Lol. The thing is, they don't really NEED any one player, with the obvious exception of Bennett. Especially, vs OSU, in the Peach Bowl. After that, nothing is off the table.

    That's just my opinion.
