After accomplished freshman seaosn, Malaki Starks faces another big test for Georgia football
Malaki Starks had about the season you would expect from a 5-star freshman. Moments of unbelievable brilliance, with some growing moments sprinkled in.

Couldn't post it on Jeffs post so, I invite everyone to listen to the interview with Roderick Robinson. That guy has it all.
@reddawg1
I love "Deuce". I learned more about why I'm excited for the Dawgs to get him in that last 2 min. interview than from any of the football action tape. He is consummate class with an unequivocal team first mindset. Thanks for that article, Jeff. Sorry to have to use Connor's article to express myself.
Connor says Malaki had an about-what-you'd-expect season. I think that understates how good he was -- even when you consider his five stars and a couple of bad coverage mistakes.
He was ranked 19th via 247 Composite, but was one of one finalists for the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award.
Everybody talks about the Oregon interception but what stands out to me was when he ran down a WR and nailed him around the five-yard line, preventing a TC. As I recall, he passed one or two other DBs on his way to the tackle. I think it was against Mizzou and preventing that touchdown was worth more than our margin in that game.
Speaking of freshmen: Here's my ranking of Georgia's most outstanding true freshmen of 2022 -- so far, of course. Anyone else want to give it a go at it?
That kind of talent bodes well for a very bright future!
Dillon Bell was the most pleasant surprise. He came in ranked as something like the 70th best receiver, but nonetheless gathered 19 catches -- third among WRs. Some of them were very cutch, e.g. third down conversions plus three touchdowns.
Love to see players like Starks playing hard, gifted with great talent, make some mistakes, work harder, and come out as classic Georgia impact players! This kid is going to show the Ohio State offense a thing or two (or three!) on Dec. 31. Proud to see this DGD mature and prosper on the field! GO DAWGS!
Wyatt, Tillman, and Hooker were better than Stroud and his crew. UT had a massive offensive line that protected Hooker from everyone, but UGA. Dawg D totally shut them down and made them play Dawgs' game. Look for a dominating performance, like UT. But, maybe closer, as OSU defense maybe a little better than UT'S, but not by much.
I do really like your list; but I believe Thorsen’s big time punts…. Particularly in games he wasn’t called on often, rate him a couple spots higher. I’d make an argument for putting him at #2. I can’t think of a game wrecking or game changing play Mykel made. Plenty of splash plays; but no game changers. Our punter both helped us dominate and kept us in good field position while the offense struggled several times this year, though.
Bottomline though, is we are luck to even be having this debate. A lot of teams only have 1, if ANY, freshman for much of anything meaningful.
