So I'm watching the morning news, and the reporter is discussing Avalanches. And says "Look at this Avalanche in
Australia ." What? Australia? Don't you mean Austria?
You know, Austria. Next to Germany. Where they actually have snow in December.
What an id!ot.

My dad used to tell my sister and me when we were growing up that "the idiots are in charge", much to my mom's chagrin....she really did not like him to say that.
I told him recently that I have concluded that he GROSSLY UNDERESTIMATED all of the idiots out there, and those who are in charge.
It's just unreal that common sense and common courtesy are FAR MORE uncommon these days.
What a world, what a world...
FYI
How many feet is the highest point in Australia?
I looked this up because I liked the movie The Man from Snowy River.
I had to look this up. They actually have an area of Mountains in SE Australia. A mere 4000 miles from Antarctica and a testament to Antarctica's reach. The area actually receives snow during their winter. June through September.
My wife loves this movie!
You learn something new every day!
G'day mate, and put another shrimp on the barbie! (For all of you "Dumb and Dumber" fans out there)
Thanks Donniem. Australia has an interesting geological history. Their mountains were formed by volcanic activity tens of thousands of years ago. Not your typical mountain range formed by colliding continents.
Reminds me of my skiing days in Arizona in the late '70s. I was an intermediate skier with numerous epic crashes. Never broke my leg though.
Similar to Australia's mountains, Mt. Aggasi (sp.) is an extinct Composite volcano where you can see a large outcrop of volcanic rock at the peak of the mountain.
I highly recommend a visit to the Blue Mountains just west of Sydney if you are ever there. Tremendous eucalyptus forest and great hiking.
Looks like Carter, Stackhouse and Logue.
If I’ve heard it once I’ve heard it a thousand times…” Gooday Mate…how’s the powder”
Funny, but actually the rock formations are known as the "3 Sisters" in Aboriginal lore, named Wimalah, Meeni, and Gunedoo.
