Cunk on Earth...my new favorite Netflix series
If you like Monty Python and enjoy history you will love this mockumentary. Classic English humor.

I didn’t realize it was on Netflix, I’ve seen clips of her before and really enjoyed them. I’ve become a big fan of British humor the past couple of years. I’ll have to give the series a shot.
Thanks for the rec. Finishing up the 3rd season of Jack Ryan (it's ok, kinda cliche, but ok), and in the middle of Vox Machina (DnD with raunchy humor). Been looking for something else to start.
Here's a clip. I don't know how the experts keep straight faces. It's part Monty Python, part Top Gear, part Between Two Ferns (that show where Zack Galafanaikis asks ridiculous questions to celebrities).
How does this expert keep a straight face?! - YouTube

This looks like a female take on Ali G, where the "subjects" are not in on the joke. I always have a weird amused/uncomfortable mixed reaction to those kinds of shows due to the cleverness of the humor playing against the ambush factor on the "civilians". I hate Impractical Jokers for that reason.
Impractical Jokers is plane idiotic. I can't stand that show. I'm pretty sure the experts being interviewed on Cunk are in on the joke, more like Between Two Ferns. I would love to see the bloopers of this show.
Now I could get into that concept. I think B2F is genius because it's clear both parties are in on it and the real tension is each side trying to maintain their composure. I just hate the "make an expert/unsuspecting person look **** for amusement" type shows.
Peep Show is good if you have never seen that one.
Little Britain can be very funny too but some of it is way over the top.
Im old enough to remember watching Python on PBS and other oddball shows like Keeping up Appearances.
Oh this is so up my alley. I grew up on Monty Python, Dave Allen, Spike Jones, The Goodies etc. and English/Irish humor. I thought the trailer was hilarious. Can't wait to watch it.
Thanks for the suggestion!!!
I sometimes put British "panel shows" on one of my monitors while working. They are reminiscent of the 60's-70's American game shows with the celebrities and the humor is great and not so subtle. Jimmy Carr hosts one called 8 out of 10 Cats and David Mitchell from Peep Shows hosts one called Would I lie to You.
You should read a little more about how PBS basically introduced Python to a generation of fans.

Do you ever watch Taskmaster? That was my first introduction to British panel shows, if you can call it that. I've since delved into 8oo10c and WILTY, but there are few shows that delight me quite like Taskmaster.
Haven't seen it but will put it on my radar now,. Thanks for the recommendation. 👊
Happy to! If you want to start with a little familiarity, Lee Mack is on series (season) 11. That was my first introduction to him.
I think that is exactly it....everyone going along with it and trying to keep their composure and answer as honestly as possible. I love when she asks a clearly absurd question, but the expert actually twists it into a legitimate query and gives a straight answer. Genius. It really is quite an intelligent show.
There's a little bit of Michael Scott from The Office in her understanding of things. The Soviet Onion, The Renai-sauce, the Darkages...so good!
I can't wait to see this show!
For something a bit offbeat, I'm almost through season 2 of The White Lotus. Kind of reminds me a bit of American Horror Stories without the spooks. A lot of twisted people, doing odd things with some dark comedy and social commentary. Someone gets offed each season, so it's all leading up to final reveal.
