    Great article, Connor!

Really does a great job explaining Coach Kirby’s mindset and what it takes for the players and coaches to buy in to produce Jordan-like results!

Go Dawgs! Four time National Champions! Let’s make it five!

Maybe Kirby can use a us against almost impossible odds - they say it can't be done in the modern era approach.

Kirby has the kind of drive and motivation to make a 3-peat possible. Only question, like Jordan and his teams, can the rest of UGA's coaches and players match Kirby's drive.

    Agree 100%!

I can definitely see those Jordan-like attributes in the way Coach Kirby handles the team!

    Go Dawgs!

As a Laker fan going back to the 60's, I'm not so sure I would emphatically endorse the idea of Shaq being better than Kobe on those 3 peat championship teams. Each played a key role and both brought different skill-sets to the table.

“Bryant wasn’t the best player on those teams, as that distinction belongs to Shaquille O’Neal.”

    That’s a matter of opinion.

Anyway, if the “distinction” of being the best player on UGA’s teams belongs to Brock Bowers, does it diminish what Stetson Bennett did?

I’m not sure what your point is with that statement about Kobe, Shaq and the Lakers.

As far as I’m concerned, USC didn’t win a single title this century. The AP Poll became obsolete with the advent of the BCS.

The trophy that every team was playing for in 2003 resides in Baton Rouge.

And USC’s 2004 title was vacated. It never happened.

For a team that can’t claim a single REAL championship, they sure do get a lot of credit for “almost three-peating”.

(And yes, I understand the historical significance of the AP Poll, but that ended in 1998. At this point, the only people who think the AP Poll is meaningful are AP writers.)

The fact that we had few 2022 players hit the TP tells me that eating off the floor is well instilled in every player save the incoming recruits.....what I read about many of them tells me they can't wait to hit all fours! GOOO DAWGS 3N23!

"It’s hard to get out of bed every morning at 5 a.m. to do work if you’re waking up in silk pajamas."____???

Truer words have never been spoken. IMO

My sentiments exactly. Cheaters NEVER win. Even in Victory. They did, what the competition, did not do. They bought their players.

I still don't get the 2003 claim. If they can claim one, due to a poll...where's UCF's love. Lol...do they get to claim a Natty too?

Polls were manipulated during that AP/UPI Era...and, everybody knows it. There's a handful of teams, and USC was one of them, that had major support from the pollsters.

You know doggone well, the pollsters during that Era didn't watch all the teams...just the ones they liked. In fact, it wasn't till the '80's, that they were able to watch more than 3 or 4 games during any given week.

So, how did they really know which teams were "best"? They didn't. They speculated and assumed based on history and record. An "Ask the Audience" clue in a multiple choice question. Lol

As far as I'm concerned...we didn't get our 1st true NCAA DIV1 Champion, until it went to a 4-Team tournament. Were there some good teams left out of the dance, due to polls? Yep...but, it was as fair as it could be, given the number of teams and games involved during a season.

With a 12-Team tournament on the horizon, we'll see some schools win it all, that haven't been recognized much, in the past. But, if they win 4 games against College Football's "Best of the Best", they deserve to be Champions.

    Go Dawgs!!!
