Alabama Star Provides Gun Used In Murder

in General
This feels like it needs its own thread instead of being posted in the BHZ. Watch the clip, Clay Travis spells out the situation pretty clearly. Miller provided former Alabama star Darius Miles used in murder off campus and was not charged. This is Wild.

Based on what was said here I don’t see what they would charge him with criminally in regards to the murder. Did the other guy say he wanted to use it to unlawfully kill someone or would a reasonable person believe the gun would be used unlawfully? Doesn’t seem clear based on this and beyond a reasonable doubt is a high standard. If Miller lawfully possessed the gun and the other guy was able to lawfully posses a gun then where is the evidence of a crime with regards to Miller? Poor judgement worthy of being kicked off the team is a legit convo though
Yeah I did like 10 minutes of easy googling and Clay is just being a clown per usual. Miller doesn’t even own the gun. Miles owns the gun and left it in Miller’s car that night and asked for it back. Then, Miles friend was the one that killed the other person while also getting shot himself so there is some contention over who actually shot first. Miles and his friend definitely egged this on and should have just left though. Clay just going for clickbait and making this out to be some huge coverup for an assassination
thanks for the research. Always good to wait and get some information. If I'm elected, I'll make click-baiting a crime- punishable by years of having to watch Gator sports.
Make no mistake everyone involved in the shooting and the events leading up to the shooting are idiots. Just no legal ramifications for most of them
No matter what happened. Bama still tried to cover the whole thing up to shield their star player.
how can miller sleep at night? He brought the gun back to the owner (miles) at 1 am outside a bar and watched someone get executed. I means seriously was he out hooping at practice the next day? Play in the next game? Most need therapy after something so heinous.
Better teammate would’ve told their drunk asses to get in the car and go home. My prediction now is this isn’t over for Miller. Wonder if he will visit them in prison. Probably not.
It was a shootout not an execution. You don’t have to exaggerate to make the situation seem worse. It’s already bad
Ok, thanks for pointing that out. It does sounds better saying he watched someone getting killed in a shootout.
What kind of handguns and firearms does Stetson prefer? Has anyone asked him?
Surely he would prefer an AK with a Glock backup right? I mean I’ve heard come rain, sleet, snow, or hail they are always working and always deliver.
Benelli M4 for close work , anything else the Army Rangers out of Columbus. With 2 Natties you can get a lot of backup!
Didn't someone say he has a cannon?
AR15 /s.
They’re overrated…
Some say BB guns others say canons. Probably something in between that never fails when he needs it most.
Was it a shoot out before Miller showed up with a loaded gun?
How do you know his friend didn’t shoot in self-defense? Generally, bringing guns into any situation doesn’t improve anything especially when you go out for the night just to hang out with people. The entire situation was dumb and avoidable but this is what the people of Alabama wanted
@YaleDawg So essentially because Miller was two handoffs away from the trigger being pulled that deems Miles as the accessory to the crime?
Is there a law against giving people their property back in Alabama? You have to look at what the laws say. Alabama just had a law go into effect that anyone 18 or older can carry a handgun with no permit, no background check, and no safety training. So the possession, transportation, and transfer of the gun are not illegal on their own. Then you have to look at intent. What was Miller’s intention in bringing the gun back to its owner? Did he know it was going to be used unlawfully? I agree he has incredibly poor judgement that’s worthy of criticism but based on the info we have available what law was broken that could be proved beyond a reasonable doubt? If you don’t like that he didn’t break a law then that’s a conversation about how the law needs to be changed.
I agree but, I carried and fired the M16 A1 (at pop up silhouette and paper targets only) and it was surprisingly accurate. I understand what is issued now is so much better. .
