Medical issues. Similar to Nakobe Dean last year.
Yeah, I’m surprised. I think the teams that have picked TEs are hoping for something that they believe Darnell isn’t.
I'm with you, Pedro How do you take a TE out of South Dakota State over a 2-time NC TE out of an SEC school who is 29-1 over the past 2 seasons, beside being 6'7" and 270 pounds and crushed it at the combhine?
It looks like medical questions for Darnell. Feels like nakobe last year. Stiff hips for Kelee. That’s all I have gotten.
What puzzles me is that many of these teams are selecting players that our Dawgs absolutely dominated.
Just glad its not my money.
But if you had to roll the dice, why wouldn't you take the guy who has performed at the highest level of college football for 2 years in a row? Is a healthy South Dakota State kid a better bet than an SEC stud who might be a little banged up? They aren't counting on getting a guy to whom they will have to give a gold watch at retirement, right? Did you see him at the combine?
Kasey, Tex, PG, this is one for you guy to opine on. I'm just a draft noobie.
No clue. But the lower they’re drafted the less they have to pay them. Eagles could have a bargain with Nakobe. Chargers have a bargain with Jamaree Salyer. It’s a cutthroat business. And it’s why I always side with the players in these confrontations with ownership.
Please be kc for Darnell.
I could see Darnell and Kelee slipping to tomorrow
Thanks, that is good info. I was thinking from a business perspective, if you need a tight end wouldn't it make sense to pay 3rd round money to a 2-time NC tight end and then invite the South Dakota guy to tryouts for no money after he goes undrafted? How many terms are chasing that SD State guy, after all? How much prrof can he have provide dtha the cna play at h4 NFl level if he couldn;t even play at and against the middle or highest levels of college competition?
Now, I am aware of the stakes here and know full well that the Team owners/staffs have much more intel , insight and knowledge then me, so the draft is more of an observation of the analysis process that leads to the decisions for me.
Got quite a few friends that are Chief fans (gotta say they are some of the best) that really love our Dawgs.
