Once Again Fox 5 Atlanta Gets it Wrong

So I'm watching the morning news on Channel 5 and the caption reads Celtics co-owner donates 26K at college graduation. And I'm thinking $26,000 would be a sizeable donation for you and me, but for an NBA owner, not that much.

The truth is the Celtics co-owner, Robert Hale is worth about 5 billion and $26,000 would represent a miniscule amount. He actually donated $1,000 each to 2500 students or 2.5 million. Five hundred dollars in two envelopes. One for the student and one for someone else that needs it more than the student or to a charitable organization.

Way to go Channel 5. You never fail to disappoint.

Meh... he still donated something. I guess it's a big deal to the school, so it makes the local news. If your take away from this story is that he didn't do enough... maybe try a different perspective.

I think the poster's point was he really did much more and in a more interesting way than the news gave him credit for due to a math error on their part.

    Ah, I misunderstood then.

Yeah, I wasn't very clear. I'm good at that.

The real point was how badly channel 5 missed the amount of the donation -- 2.5 million. But the caption read 26k. Maybe someone in their proofreading department needs to up their game. Same for other channels when captions don't match up with the video.
