Mr. Condon is clearly a DGD. Trying not to get overly optimistic, but pretty darned excited about the future of George baseball right now. Go Dawgs!

I watched LSU vs UT CWS game. Paul Skenes is unreal (definitely the best pitcher in the NCAA this season, and a deserving #1 Draft pick). Skenes was still throwing 100+ mph with his fastball after 120+ pitches in the 8th inning, and his ball location wasn't suffering either. Excited to see what the future holds for the Baseball DAWGS, and Coach Johnson..GoDAWGS!

Josh Brools picked his old LSU buddy Wes Johnson for this coaching job...good pick Josh. Congdon will thrive under Johnson. Upgrading the UGA facility a much needed bonus. Giving Dawgs a thumbs up for a change.

" Build it and they will come " We've seen the great fan support for all the post season games and how venues like Southern Miss and the like are electric. I hope that UGA doesn't skimp on any of the fan experience aspect. This is a great opportunity to lift this program up to the level it deserves to be.

Jere Morehead brought a new philosophy to top leadership at UGA concerning football. Past leadership, especially Morehead’s predecessor and institutional embarrassment Michael Adams, regarded all sports including football as an expense allowing UGA to fall far behind almost all of the top programs in athletic expenditures, especially facilities. Morehead realized football was an investment and that realization has brought riches almost beyond measure to UGA.

Certainly, football is king, but should Morehead have the same epiphany concerning men’s basketball and baseball and invest in those programs at a level close to other top programs in the country, I have no doubt UGA fans would flock to Athens and support programs that consistently competed for national championships.

Kirby is King, but Morehead is the power behind the throne in his willingness to continue to invest in Kirby’s program. It will be a great day at UGA if Morehead and top institutional leadership begin investing heavily in basketball and baseball, not at the detriment of football, but in addition to it for the good of UGA fans and the entire university.

More focus on "pitching and defense". Just what the Doctor ordered. I'm starting to look forward to next year, now. Lol

IMO...The more money those sports draw through television contracts...the greater the focus will be on baseball, basketball and the like. And, the more money they'll get and so on...as long as they keep feeding the horse.

IMO...The expansion of the internet and social media have done wonders for the exposure of those sports. Their respective values have been growing at an increasing rate since the late '90's... early 2000's. I expect at the rate it's going, basketball and baseball will start bringing in more than their share of revenue by 2030-35.

That's a LOT of money....considering how fast College Football is growing.

Can you imagine, an "institution of higher learning", having that kind of "Power"? What will they do with it?...That's the question. But, as usual...we're wayyy behind in the conversation. We're still talking about NIL and "Free Agency". Lol

@MikeGriffith Thanks for the great continued coverage on the steps UGA is taking to catch up to their elite SEC baseball peers. So good to see excellent momentum! I’d like to have seen a reporter ask the question about in state tuition for out of state recruits, while the administration was in the room. Do you think that is another step they will take to even the recruiting playing field for this staff?
