Worst Bar in Athens

Last weeks random topic of "Best Bar in Athens" gained a good bit of traction.

Let's flip the script. What is currently the worst or a bar as you remember being the worst Bar in Athens.

YOU ONLY GET ONE

The worst bar in Athens is unequivocally, Silver Dollar Bar. Have I ever been inside? No. Will I ever go inside? No. Why? Because they replaced what was my go to watering hole in Athens which was Lansdowne Pub.

It was quiet. It was cheap. They had pretty girls behind the bar serving cold drinks. They had games on and open pool tables upstairs.

They partially closed a semester before I graduated and I was heartbroken. Then miraculously they randomly reopened to liquidate their remaining stock. My friends and I helped them polish that off and anything else they might have acquired over the next 5 months.

That place was the best. Now that God forsaken silver dollar piece of crap sits in its rightful spot.

Not sure if I have the name right, but I think it was called "The Night Owl"?? Really seedy honky tonk place on Atlanta Hwy. Went in there once when I was in school back in '81. The "locals" didn't care too much for college kids to say the least. Never went back.

Washington St bar. Had a guy get a beer glass smashed across his face about 3ft from me before a barwide brawl broke out. Glad that place closed.
