Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Hate to see anyone lose their job but there has to be standards and accountability. Maybe Mr. Judd can segue into a novelist career writing fictional crime dramas.
They changed the title and fired the guy. That is about all you can expect. Still keeping the word rallied is a thumb in the eye to the university but they must of figured no one is going to fight over what 'rallied' means. If guys are character witnesses for a bond hearing that is far short of 'rallying' for the guy. I guess this will be the end of this.
How you go from 11 to 2 is better but still I don't see a single 1 since those 2 were both handled as best as one could expect.
Good.
God I can't wait until toe meets leather and we can actually talk about what is happening on the field.
We may differ on this point. I love to see people who lie and cheat at their jobs lose them. But that’s just me.
Karma is one of the oldest principles of the universe. I think it went into effect 2.35 nanoseconds after the Big Bang. I might be off by a tenth or so, but I think I'm close.
Wow!!! It’s about time!!!
Even the AJC (finally) knows when it’s time to fold the hand!!!
The AJC, well now, it sure them long enough!!!!
I think it's odd they would fire Judd and keep the article. If the article has such glaring issues that you fire the journalist that wrote it then you probably should retract the article and have another journalist write a new article. It's like they're trying to do this balancing act where they keep embarrassment to a minimum by not retracting while also avoiding litigation from UGA by sacrificing Judd. I don't think this will be enough for CKS, but we'll see how the university wants to progress.
I DO recall that our forum also had someone in here, (who will remain nameless) who, at one point (very early on) actually seemed to be defending this former AJC “investigative journalist”… AKA - a writer of fiction, AKA - a former writer for the AJC, AKA - a now fired AJC former employee.
Very well said.
In fairness, I think this is a case where "the system" or "the process" worked, i.e., the author was allowed freedom to write the facts as he perceived them and was then held (somewhat) accountable when he was proven unjustified.
Unfortunately, the AJC comes out unscathed because not only did they benefit from the public interest in reading the original article, they also benefited from interest in reading the revised article, a 2-fer if you will. It's not possible to hate the AJC more than most already do, so they really had nothing to lose here by letting an old hack put his own neck in the noose and then just kick the bucket frm underneath him when the spectators grumbled.
Onward and upward, fellow Bulldogs.
the article is still inaccurate…
Still have not seen an article on Dawgnation regarding the firing or the retraction... @MikeGriffith @DawgNationDaily
Well it's still the AJC, so SNAFU is their copacetic.
This time the sensational headlines AJC have promoted are coming back to haunt them as other media are using the same tactics. Most people outside the fan base are not reading the whole article. They just see “AJC Eats Crow” and Kirby Kicks **** or variations thereof. They are not paying attention to the AJC’s weak retraction. The mere fact they did something that is rarely ever done in these arenas speaks for itself. It is great to see the karma coming back around.
“Best birthday ever!”
The job is half done. They fired the lowly journalist. That's a good start....but someone approved that article for publication without question. There were so many outrageous accusations in the piece that someone on staff should have paused and asked for evidence before publishing. I hope UGA is not satisfied with the AJC's actions so far.
False in one thing, false in everything. That is a legal principle that if a witness is found untruthful in one thing he is considered untruthful in everything. The AJC has already admitted that the article was false is a couple areas, thus the entire article is to be considered false. I hope UGA continues to press until the AJC retracts the entire article and someone higher up is held accountable.
Judd should circle the block and pick up Chip Towers. Let them both visit the unemployment line.
While they're at it add Terence Moore to the car pool.
