Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

For my 60th and sons 30th wife and daughter-in-law got us tickets. Taking another son as well. These are my 2 oldest of 4 sons and actually took them to their first game 25 years ago for Quincy Carter’s first game. Guess I have been slacking. Coming up from J’ville probably staying in Winder. If we may be over-served what is the best way to get to Athens? Also are there any Dawgnation tailgates? Wife and daughter-in-law and granddaughter are going to hang out in Winder. I appreciate any help.

Wife drops you off, Daughter in Law picks you up. Use Waze; 316 will be a parking lot.
You may want to look into Uber, Lyft or something to that nature. As scheduled now, the game is @ 3:30. Winder is 30 minutes away so plan on a full day. I would leave around 10 in the morning in that traffic will be lighter. If you can get into downtown by 10:45, park yourself at a good sports bar for lunch and some early games. Enjoy the festivities and a walk to the stadium. The game should be over by 7 and walking back up to downtown, you should and hopefully have a chance to ring the campus "victory" bell. Shoot for your pickup ride around 8:30 and expect to be back in winder by 10.
Sounds good. I appreciate the advice.
I think you've got a second career as a travel guide for the Bulldog diaspora! 😄
Slightly off topic, but I remember listening to Munson call Quincy Carter’s first game in 1998. Had just married that summer and my wife and I were staying at Cumberland Island’s Greyfield Inn for the Labor Day weekend. I recall FSU was upset that day.
Have many fond memories of listening to far off scratchy radio stations carrying Munson and the Dawgs, long before YouTube and smartphones.
Good luck on getting that Uber in Athens after the game bro. Daughter-in-law....
Cell phone reception can also be quite challenging in extremely large crowds as well.
