You watch....She's gonna be the next head, ESPN chops off, for blowing up their partially manufactured, "Alabama/Nick Saban mystique" and narrative that Saban is the greatest. By saying, "UGA and Kirby Smart, have taken over College Football".
Except...he's not as great now, as he was 3 short years ago. I believe Saban was planning to walk away from Coaching, after last season...and, joining the ESPN Broadcast Team. His politics fit right in and he supposedly had "his best Team ever", so there was the matter of a "Championship Run" [that never actually materialized], in his final year.
Then, with the legend firmly in place, he could walk away, knowing he left the coffers full, for the next guy. That way, there's no negative speculation about "why he left" or "what if he stayed".
But...."not even making the SECCG was such a personal embarrassment to Nick, that he couldn't let it stand....especially after Pollack rubbed a little salt in his still bleeding wounds.
And....ESPN CEO's are peed-off, cause they HAD Him locked down...almost....prior to that remark by Pollack, that pushed him over the edge, to stay and fix what's broke. Lol...that's my story and I'm stickin' to it.
I guess I don't care that much. 2 years ago we hadn't won in 40+ years and then we win one. Relief. Then last year, which was a rebuilding year, we win unexpectantly again. Last year, Bama had the team and somehow didn't make it to the playoff. We were suppossed to be 10-2ish in most people's predictions. So how great is that that we won?
It is pure gold. I guess when things are going so well we should just celebrate that and be thankful.
Not worried, not upset, really don't care.
Dawgs look great and we will be a great team this year. Not feeling disrespected, just feeling really really good. Lots of love for the Dawgs!
Look, how silly will they look when we win again? Let's enjoy it and maybe we get to serve them some more crow in December.
Hey BA - sorry I missed you at the happy hour tonight. I am sure it was a great time. I hope you are watching this FL v Utah game tonight and laughing at the ineptitude of the Gators. I think they have shot every toe off their right foot tonight. False starts, misplayed punt returns, turnovers, sacks, the hilarity never ends. The only reason the score isn't worse is the defense has come up with a few plays, but not nearly enough. This has to be embarrassing for Florida fans to watch... I hate it for them, not...
I know people think Napier is a good guy and they have a really good recruiting class. Can they survive for 2 more years of playing like this. Not sure they can...
