    What changed with Carson.....Perfection is a myth made up of numerous components judged on a sliding scale by the one making the judgement....Carson came to Georgia a 4 star Pro QB with a ton of raw skill and a canon for an arm by HS standards. In his forth year he is ready having now mastered the components of skill refinement, play book, defense recognition, play adjustment, strength, game focus, leadership and the biggest and the toughest.... mental maturity. Through patience commitment he developed a "never quit" attitude. Now like a dam holding back a torrent, Carson is ready to have his hard fought abilities burst forth in a win at all cost performance.....repeated weekly!

    What changed......It's called Dawg Development and Carson Beck has reached the perfection Kirby Smart and Mike Bobo feel is necessary to lead our TEAM to victory repeated weekly! GOOOOOO DAWGS, SICEM!

    I guess you can buy into the whole UGA QB development thing if you choose, not saying it isn't real, just maybe not quite so formulated. Consider SB who by his own account just two weeks before he started the game against who was it? UAB? THe one that most people thought CB would start, SB wasn't even on the practice squad, just basically hanging out at the other end of the field by himself throwing to I don't know, the equipment guy or someone? THe week before the game he gets invited to take reps and compete with CB and he says to himself, I've got nothing to lose and he practiced loosey goosey and had a great week airing it out. CTM told CKS, "hey I think we need to go with SB and the rest is history. But it certainly didn't happen by following some type of proper UGA development program. It just happened organiclly.

    Agree with your assessment @reddawg1 . People love revisionist history but the facts are that heading into the 2021 season, Bennett wasn't being developed and there was ZERO plan to develop him. JT Daniels was the presumed starter and a pre-season Heisman candidate, Beck was his backup, and no one else really mattered. Then Daniels gets hurt in fall camp and instead of Beck seizing the moment, he let it get away and Bennett stepped in almost by default. What he accomplished was obvious but even after winning that first Natty, Bennett was so unsure of his status with the team going forward that by his own admission, he STILL sought assurances from Kirby Smart about his future before definitively committing to the Dawgs for the 2022 season. Now Beck has had the time to develop physically and mentally and he's definitely earned the job. But in all honesty, what really changed for him is it's just his time, because I really don't think that either Stockton or Vandagriff is ready right now to lead this team to a National Championship. And Kirby Smart knows it. Go Dawgs!

    @DallasDawg

    Yeh, remember when Eason was the starter then he got hurt and JF stepped in and was the better player.

    Remember when D'Wan Mathis looked like the better player in practice til the lights went on in Fayeteville?

    @reddawg1 I do remember. And it could very well happen that way again. That's the beauty of the game. You never know. But coaches don't plan or think that way. They plan for the known and deal with the unknown if and when they have to. And hope it works out of the best as it did with Fromm and Bennett.

    But remember years ago when DJ Shockley got hurt, missed the Florida game and we had to start, who was it, Joe Tereshinki III (sp)? Happenstance is just that. Sometimes it works well and sometimes it doesn't. Let's hope everything works out for the best for Carson Beck and the 2023 Dawgs. See y'all in Houston.
