    Not much new here.

Injuries, yes, but does that answer the question posed in the headline? Why so many injuries? How do our injuries compare with those of other similar teams? What can be done to improve things in the Injury Department? You can think of other similar questions.

Far too many articles on this site are simply rehashes.

    Go, Dawgs!

I don't see much difference in OL injuries this year. For the past few years UGA has had to rotate tackles due to various injuries. That rotation has led to meaningful playing time for the line. Last year Mims had to step in. The year before Jones had to step in. I hate to be cliche, but next man up, and thanks to recruiting and depth we have the players to do it.

As far as nothing new hear, I am happy to hear from Fairchild, who I have followed from high school. If anyone has not seen him in high school wrestling, Google it. You won't be disappointed. He is a classy young man and tremendous athlete.

Jim, you got me thinking.....we've got 20 guys listed as OL on our roster with an average weight of 314lbs and an average height of 6.5. To be a member of an offensive line at an elite level...for the past two years we have been....that physical average is standard. But to be elite each member must have the shills of strength and quickness of movement. We have an O-Line coach and a strength and conditioning coach with 4-5 assistants. My point....given what we have, given who we have, one would think Stacey could muster up two elite O-Lines with subs available. What I saw in the first half of the SC game was far from elite effort and execution so my first look would be our coaching/culture. Is there a problem here? Only time and games will tell the tale.....

Regarding that first Twitter clip: Go, D'andre! On the backs of Swift, Davis and the others, the Philadelphia Bulldogs may make it back to the Super Bowl.

Starting to really miss a player that I followed closely (#77 RIP) and really looked forward to watching this year. Higher ceiling than #73 and also a Sunday player. So sad to not see a player have a chance to realize their potential. Len Bias w/the Celtics. Gianna Bryant w/UConn.

Patchwork OL can survive UAB. Get Blaske back next week (AU) will help rotationally. As will #55. Any more injuries could be very problematic.

And a lesson to all of us to maintain the biggest margin for error when getting behind the wheel.

My sentiments, exactly... been rooting for Fairchild since before he even committed, thinking his stellar wrestling history would enable him to be a special OL. Strong. Agile. Quick feet and hands. Tough as nails. Glad to see him getting a chance to show his stuff. Held his own last week, and will certainly get even better. Go Dawgs!

is their such a thing as too big to run block? It is rare to find a 330 lb guy who can hit the 2nd level and take out a linebacker. Our push is too slow off the line but when we got Fairchild in there seemed to improve dramatically. Pass blocking is never a problem with big dudes unless they can't bend and shuffle their legs and feet. Run blocking is the key...

Agree !! With 20 guys listed on the roster one would think having 12 ready that Can play with only marginal let down, wouldn’t be asking to much.

KS says they always want to play the best available. I get that. But speaking for Me, even with the current number of injuries it’s a some what thin excuse not to have 12 out of really for now I guess 18 as we have two injured ?? KS needs to stay closely in tune with the O line coaches. If there is some sort of problem need to get it ironed out and quick !! Go Dawgs !!

Kirby has certainly earned my trust. If he trusts his staff, I trust his staff. I have no doubts about their qualifications, commitment, work ethic, dedication, and desire to put the best team possible on the field.

Our team is significantly and remarkably banged up. How much compared to other similar teams I don't know. Why so many injuries I don't know. There are a host of similar questions.

I could make the assumption that some of our injuries flow from the same fountain as much of our team strength. Our practices are harder than our games. Iron is sharpening iron and there are endless opportunities for injuries to occur. Is that all of answer? Does the same happen on other teams? Is there a better way?

It just seems to me there's room for deeper journalism. I'd like more information and less speculation and less rehash of the same old news.

    Go, Dawgs!

We have over 100 guys on the team. Yes, 85 are on scholarship. So 20 percent of the team is injured. This is about 10 percent higher than normal.

These things happen. Hopefully we get some guys back by Florida.

If we didn't recruit so well I would be concerned. Our 85 are top notch from 1-85 and we have some studs in the other 15+ walk ons as we know.

The young pups are growing up and some new stars will emerge to help us out. Not concerned at all, actually excited about seeing some of these kids become stars right before our eyes.
