Alabama radio host: Georgia ‘making it boring’ with football dominance
ATHENS — Kirby Smart’s version of Georgia football looks a lot like the old style Alabama teams of yesteryear, per one Tuscaloosa radio analysts.

Rat Poison.
Bet he wouldn't be complaining if it was Bama with UGA's streak. Also, UGA has only two national titles in the last 40 years. They might be from the past two seasons, but you can't say they've been dominating. Dominating is what Bama has done since 2008-2009. Always 10-11 win seasons with 6 national titles. That's dominating.
To Fowler’s point, College GameDay has yet to do a UGA game this season even though the Bulldogs have won 21 straight games
And Fowler's point is a horrible one. Since he is an Alabama guy I am going to go ahead and presume ill intent on his part: he is just trashing UGA's schedule. This guy knows full well that had the SEC office not forced UGA to cancel the Oklahoma game, ESPN would have been there. Otherwise, why should GameDay have shown up for UGA's tilts against UT-Martin, Ball State and UAB? Yes, UGA also played South Carolina. But had South Carolina beaten UNC 31-17 instead of losing by that amount, they would have entered the game ranked and with momentum thanks to the strong finish to last season (knocking both Tennessee and Clemson out of the playoff) and that likely would have merited a GameDay visit, especially since everyone is still holding out hope that Spencer Rattler is going to justify his high school recruiting ranking. (Note: Rattler has actually played pretty good this year, even in the 2 losses.) As it was, it looked like South Carolina was reverting to their "one step forward, two steps back" tendencies of the Will Muschamp era and the game was going to be a blowout.
Other than lobbying for UGA to be left out of the playoff if they lose the SECCG, I don't know what this guy's agenda is. Oh wait ... that is absolutely this guy's agenda. Good luck with that.
I think some are missing Ryan's point --- his comment about making it boring is a compliment to the way Georgia is winning week-in and week-out, which is great for Georgia fans but not great for other fans who like to see different teams win.
It's not meant as anything but a positive.
There are several strong teams other than UGA right now and likely a couple more come November. Its not UGA by default at this point. Not even close. Fortunately the schedule has really allowed options on how to bring this years team along, develop and address issues.
We got to get much better though by the end of October. And for the UK game truthfully. Hopefully we will. Hopefully that starts this week.
The UGA team that played the 1st half vs SC or that played the 2ndQ of UAB does not win the SECe. Like CKS said, "a lot of guys have to get better".
I don't think so. Not on your earlier ideas, anyway. Well. Your later ones, either, actually. Ultimately, Fowler, being an Alabama guy, is an SEC guy. There's a bias toward the league, and he sees Georgia's dominance as a thing that makes much of the other games seem ho-hum, but that's really league-related. I don't think there's anything backhanded against UGA at all. I just think his focus is here instead of surveying the field as a whole. It would have taken a whole different set of comments to imply what you're reading into what was said, and they're just not there.
I don't really agree with the idea that UGA has been dominant, though; not across the NCAA. Honestly, even though we've been masterful when you consider box scores, as many have noted (CKS and players included), we have yet to play a complete game with all parts clicking as they should. This is not a complaint about the team, it's just something to be noted. Man-oh-man, on the day we do play a complete game, I fear for the team we face (how beautiful would it be if it were Auburn in JH Stadium?!). We for sure have a solid team when everyone is communicating well, but, as was noted by one of our defensive keys, we're not communicating our best at the moment.
As it stands - and I R E A L L Y hate to say it - Michigan is doing just as well on their end, and it is looking right now like Texas might actually be back this year. I've even been wowed by the Seminoles, even despite their OT finish against what seems to be a limping-to-the-starting-line Clemson team... None of that detracts from the success we're having, but it does discount the idea that we're making the field as a whole seem boring.
All-in-all, it sounds like Fowler is being transparent in his comments, but limited in his scope.
I'd bet Ryan Fowler didn't say anything to that extent when Bama was winning titles every other year..
One fairly unimportant observation:
Sanders hasn’t BUILT A PROGRAM…
He has ASSEMBLED A TEAM.
