ATHENS — When you’re in a secondary that features Malaki Starks and Kamari Lassiter, two of the best players at their respective positions in the sport, opposing teams are going to target you in coverage.

That was a great play to punch the ball out of the receiver's hand on that back shoulder pass.

Everette is getting better every week. They know other teams are targeting him and he has to be on his game at all times. That 1 pi call was garbage home cooking.

agreed With all of the above and the two other comments. I feel his biggest area of improvement needs to be tackling. He did a great job on that back shoulder and the pi calls were big time home cooking while Ladd got mugged on a 3rd and long in the third quarter with no call.

Im excited to see which Georgia team shows up , and I hope #10 finds his swag and we start thumping people on defense and our wide out blocking. Even on the Bowers TD our wide out stepped out of the way of the pursuing defender. Can’t have that. Football is a contact game and we need guys out there on both sides of the ball who thrive on contact.

    go dawgs!

Agree 100% on the PI call. Such a bad call and the coverage was outstanding. He is getting better and still relies too much on his closing speed to protect him. That is getting less and less and his technique is getting better each game. If he is our weakest link, i think we are in good hands.

Exactly what I said about him the other day, plays like Ringo, trying to catch up with his speed. But his next growing point needs to be reading the WRs eyes and turn his head towards the ball. Almost every time he gets thrown towards, he's never looking at the ball. Just my .02. Sure this will be down voted, but it's just what I'm seeing week in and out.

He is already better than Ringo imo. Much better. Ringo just looked awkward half the time.

He’s playing better. He needs to turn his head to see the ball. Other than that, he looks good in coverage. I agree the PI was a bad call, but if he turns his head toward the ball, the PI is probably not called. Gotta understand that the refs are not very good at doing their job. It was not PI, but gotta help the less than competent refs out. Look back for the ball - no call made.

I'm going to assume that Thomas saw Bowers heading to the endzone, and that just by standing where he was he would block the nearest defender's path, and his priority was not getting some kind of penalty. The fact that he put his arms up as Bowers ran by would seem to support that.

Totally agree about the bogus PI. My kids try to say because he didn't turn around. Well even though he didn't turn around you still have to do something to interfere. I guess when their guy slapped our receiver in the facemask turning his head off the ball is OK because he was turned around. They seemed to get away with more. But I am bias.
