Oscar Delp shares the latest on Brock Bowers, why he wasn’t wowed by his one-handed catch
ATHENS — Plenty of people were left in awe by Oscar Delp’s one-handed grab on the opening drive of the win against Florida. It certainly helped ease those who were worried about the tight end position going into the game.

Oscar reminds me of Bowers: unassuming, hard working, attentive, skilled, all those attributes that characterize a leader and winner in football and life. I really like Oscar Delp.
I have been impressed with his blocking. I saw his high school highlights and he was essentially a wide out with little blocking duties. He has obviously taken advantage of the nutrition and weight room at UGA. He also has taken advantage of watching Darnell and Brock on and off the field. Kudos to Todd Hartley's recruiting and coaching.
Man, you have to give Hartley tons of credit. Not only does he find the talent, sell them on coming to UGA with all of the TE talent in the room each and every year, coaching them up to be ready when they are called, keeping them humble with team first view, and straight up producing results. Honestly, if you saw his picture you would never associate him with being the best TE coach in the country but he sure is and definitely glad the DAWGS have him. Great article and just a great overall position group with a great leader.
Delp was a 4-star who was recruited by just about everybody. He is a good if not great tight end in his own right. He would have been starting for 99% of the teams in the NCAA. The difference in talent is there but it is not a real factor due to how talented Delp is.
