Mike Bobo, Carson Beck reflect on 2023 growth and how the loss to Alabama will motivate them
ATHENS — Mike Bobo can undoubtedly relate to what Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken is going through at the moment.

I agree, Bobo, learn from the loss..BUT..learn. Do not let Bama beat you again! We are behind you. The fans need a WIN over Bama...as well as the team. This is the year to take it to them!
With the tools Beck will have to work with 2024's offensive output will more than likely be better that 2023. Then when you factor in the potential of the 2024 defense the Dawgs could be a team for the ages this season.
JUst watched a film study on Youtube of what BAMA did defensively to confuse CB. Very interesting. DIDn't watch it all but from what I got out of it, they blanketed our receivers, safety help behind the DB's and they prevented any crossing patterns over the middle by how they positioned their LB's. The main thing I noticed was that we didn't have a checkdown plan to a RB. On some pass plays CB needed to get rid of the ball and our Receivers hadn't even turned to look back yet. Some plays just took too long to develop.
We need to take a page out of the KC playbook of get the ball out of your QB's hands quick. THE RAvens had a great defensive team but MAhomes went like 18-20 in the first half. THe way they utilize Kelsey they had no answer for it. Take those 7-8 yarders all day. Move the chains. Can't drag your RB all the way across the formation on a run and expect to beat BAMA around the end. Although , with our new Speedster, maybe we can.
Alabama didn't do anything special on defense against Georgia. First drive Dawgs cut through their defense like a hot knife through butter.
Then after they saw that Bowers and McConkey were both less than healthy, they keyed on stopping the run. With a healthy Bowers and McConkey, they would've had to defend the whole field equally. Alabama got lucky because they played the Dawgs at just the right time.
"Mike Bobo can undoubtedly relate to what Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken is going through at the moment."....both coaches are tops in their focus on calling plays that utilize the skills and abilities of the players they have.....it is dependent on those players executing flawlessly.....when mistakes are made, game plans fall apart and lesser teams find ways to win.....so ended the seasons for both The Dawgs and The Ravens. You can rest assured that both Bobo and Monken have learned from these games.....as The Best always works at getting Better and Better Never Rest!
Maybe pass on first down on occasion.
I appreciate and admire Coach Bobo. I enjoyed him when Coach Richt was HC and this past year also. Never really understood all the criticism but I also wouldn’t want a lot of crazed Dawg fans watching the games with me.
