TN lawsuit against NCAA

Tennessee fans seem to think this lawsuit will be a slam dunk and that the NCAA is reaching and ultimately doesn’t have.a leg to stand on. I believe that UVA has now joined in the lawsuit. I’m just wondering what you folks think about the situation. I know we have some professional legal minds that are members, I’m interested on any takes you might have as this unfolds.

Since Tennessee is involved, they'll probably take an L, as usual. Wouldn't it be hilarious if UTjr. was the team that finally pushed the line too far and ended the Wild West for players? Recruits would blame them, and they would be pariahs forever. According to some VoLOL insiders what their booster did was very dumb and basically connected all the dots for the NCAA himself, by running his mouth.

The kid signed with a collective, that is independent from the Univarsitee of Tenercee, but the signing is exclusive to that school. Sounds like a meath penalty case, right?

They have been involved in some of the most curious legal proceedings. Butt chugging tops the list, but proclaiming a two time national champion to be a toxic environment is funnier, because it says more about THEM than anyone else. They just might have opened the outhouse door with this lawsuit.

Does anyone really understand what the violation is? I don't think the NCAA does either. They created a wild west situation and are now trying to regulate things that happened when the floodgates were opened. Meanwhile, still no movement on Michigan's ACTUAL violations that are provable and not even disputed by the university. But the NCAA is going to continue obsessing over jaywalkers and turn signal violations.

My thought is that since Harbaugh has gone to the NFL, that closed the door on that.

I don't think the NCAA is brave enough to try and make an NFL coach look bad or ruin his career...

Perhaps, but that was not a Harbaugh covert operation. The entire program was in on it. I don't care about punishing Harbaugh any more....but the school should suffer the consequences.

From my understanding it has something to do with a booster using a private jet to fly Nico to a NIL meeting. AD White alluded to the NCAA trying to enforce “old booster rules” which quite frankly don’t apply anymore since NIL is a business transaction and use of private air transportation in business is extremely common.

Yeah, I’m not sure exactly what is going on. The fact that TN has taken a very strong stance against it makes me think that the NCAA’s case might not hold water.

I’ve found it difficult to be confident in the facts surrounding this situation. I’m interested bc I think it’s possible that whatever happens will effect us all.

The NCAA did not create this. That was the Supreme court. They said you can't prevent a person from getting paid. It could have happened 50 years ago if a player had taken the case to court.
