Kirk Herbstreit allegedly encouraged Dylan Raiola to flip to Nebraska
Dylan Raiola was a long-time Georgia commit, only for him to flip to Nebraska just before the start of the early signing period in December.

So a former OSU QB pushes for Raiola to not go to Georgia. Mmmmm Something stinks here.
Good Riddance.
David Pollack pointed out the obvious(had the gall) in front of Saban and Herbstreet that UGA was the new sherriif in town. See ya David!
I liked Raiola, but he really didn’t set the world on fire at Buford and slowly but surely slid from the #1 recruit to #21 in his class. He also dropped from the #1 QB to #3 during that time. There is a possibility we can pick up Ju Ju Lewis next year. If that flip occurs then we will likely gain a better QB than Raiola……..which probably wouldn’t have occurred had Dylan stayed at UGA. Only time will tell and hopefully this time in 2025 we will be thanking Herbstreit for his Nebraska referral. Stay tuned and Go Dawgs!!!
While I am happy with the way this all panned out, it makes you wonder what the issue is with UGA and the boys from College Gameday. This story points out that Herbstreit is in no way an impartial observer. He should quit pretending he is.
I see Dylan as a 3 transfer player who never makes the pos. He should have stayed at UGA bid his time and when he was fully prepared to get behind the wheel they would have given him the keys to the car. Too many "ME" players nowadays.
I'm actually glad the way this turned out, as I think DR was wishy-washy (well, I guess we know he was now), and it's hard to create a DGD out of someone not 100% committed to the The G. All that said, never a good thing for any TV broadcaster to be weighing in on these kind of things behind the scenes, IMHO. Interested to see how KH responds to the "outing"...
PS: I hope for goodness sake no TV broadcasters were communicating with the CFP committee behind the scenes when it knocked UGA from #1 to #6!!!
Kirk Herbstreit is an enemy of the SEC. He wants to see the big 10 and the big 12 dominate. Good luck herbie!!! I hope he is banned from Athens, GA. 😂
Herbstreit still mad his buckeyes didn't beat UGA in the past or in the CFP. No matter how much he tries to act like he loves Georgia.
From all we are hearing, beating out Puglisi might have been too much of a challenge for DR
Nah, come on now, we all know that non-biased, perfectly neutral, professional analyst, ESPN Darling Kirk wouldn’t do anything like that. 🙄 Right and I wouldn’t eat a perfectly cooked ribeye steak with a baked potato either !! 😂
I think bottom line is he saw too many very capable talented QB's lined up at UGA. I know KS wants to carry 4 QB's but its gotta be a hard to convince 4, 4-5*'s to get on board at the same time when there's the better opportunity for earlier play time at other schools. ...IMO
Not saying he didn't do it nor defending KH but I would be really surprised if he were **** enough to do that....
ESPN's Gameday has a distinct dislike for Georgia. Herbstreit is still bitter about the Dawgs beating him in 1993, and we all know Pat McAphee hates UGA as well after his antics at the SEC Championship. The next time they show their faces in Athens, I think the Georgia faithful will come out to give them a proper reception. :-)
