Caitlan Clark does not make Olympic team.
What the holy heck is going on with that? Is she being "told" to wait her turn or what? Apparently Diana Taurasi, a living legend, is going to be on the team, but she's what, 300 years old now? Don't get it. Would think the selection folks might like to add some interest to their squad. Or maybe CC isn't that good yet? Thoughts?

The women's team has women 9 gold medals out of their last 10 Olympics and their average margin of victory is something like 23 points or so. Several articles I have read find this to a non-issue as the talent level at guard in the WNBA is so high, she hasn't risen to the level yet to deserve a spot on a team that will dominate again with the older players anyway. I imagine she will have plenty of Olympic opportunities to come, barring injury or other unfortunate circumstances, if she continues to mature and improve.
Yeah, talent-wise this isn't a big snub. From an interest perspective, yes. She is the reason ratings and attendance have surged. Can and will the US team succeed without her? Of course. There will be other Olympics but they are just every 4 years so for her, she has to remain injury-free.
burnout may be an issue too. Just played a full college season straight into a pro season. She also plays a similar position as some of the other great American players from what I’ve read.
Todd McShay is reporting character issues.
🤣
who would know better than him. He likely had access to the U of Iowa women's basketball locker room.
She went from the frying pan into the fire after that NC run.
I’m with Kasey…she just finished a pretty grueling schedule and went right to the Pros. I actually think the time off will do her good.
She's still a rookie. She is probably not among the best 10 or so players in the WNBA. Yes, she is the biggest "star" in the league right now, but she is still just a rookie. I don't see this as a snub.
I thought the media's use of the word "snub" was just more clickbait journalism, as though she was automatically entitled to the spot and was "robbed " of it. Did any rookies make the team? I saw the list, but don't know any of the players and didn't care to enough to dig deeper.
I didn't recognize any names on the roster other than the Grenier person who got arrested in Russia. Don't care to do the research but I'm pretty sure no rookie made the team. I am convinced that all this Caitlin drama is 100% designed to generate interest. It's all manufactured by the league.
Not only that, the press is exposing their lack of understanding of the actual depth of the talent pool in the league by reporting this as though they are leaving the best player off the roster and risking the Gold medal.
1000% Agreed on the clickbait headline.
In one of the articles it was mentioned she didn't attend the camp/tryout because she was in the final four.
She also doesn't have nearly as much international experience as the other players they could've chosen from.
Not sure why "everyone" is up in arms about her not being on the team just because of her college career.
Lastly, I don't think she's a Top 10 talent in the league, in my opinion. Super talented, infinite potential - still needs to learn the game at that level.
Caitlan who?
You mean the same guy that sabotaged DeVonte Wyatt's chances of being a Top 15 pick because of some bogus allegation and speculation? That guy?
