I can't understand how drafting the best player in college baseball was a "tough call"..

Ain't that the truth!! Yesterday I was proud of the Rockies… now I'm embarrassed for them. Go Dawgs!

A team in need of pitchers such as the Reds, I can understand drafting a pitcher to fill that need. But Cleveland selecting Bazzana from Oregon State with the 1st pick, over Condon, is mind boggling. Bazzana is a great player also, but if he were better than Condon, he would've won the Golden Spikes award as the best Collegiate baseball player, not Charlie Condon. As much as I despise anything related to the florida gators, I think Jac Caglianone is also a better player than Bazzana.

If Condon doesn't go #1 or #2, I figure those teams are playing the new financial game. But for Colorado to nearly apologize for taking the best player in baseball after he "slips" into their lap is straight-up bizarre. They'll be thanking their lucky stars when in a couple of short years Charlie is launching rockets all over Coors Field. Go Dawgs!

It doesn't seem they were apologizing at all, but that there was very stiff competition and Charlie beat them out. Seems like it should be taken as a compliment, not an apology. Perspective is everything. I know, my first pespective is often wrong and I had the same as you initially but thought about it and think it should be taken as a compliment, not a slight or an apology for drafting him "over" others.
