Georgia football not worried about looming game against Texas as Longhorns join the SEC
DALLAS — As Malaki Starks made his rounds at SEC Media Days on Tuesday, one question always came up.
Comments
Texas squeaked by in more than 1 game last season against average big12 teams. Wait until they play good/great teams almost every week in the SEC. I'll say Texas does make the playoffs however, but, with at least 2 SEC losses though..GoDAWGS!
I like that approach. we will deal/think about Texas when we get to them
I see a lot of posts about Texas not being able to handle playing SEC teams week in and week out, but honestly, looking at their schedule, they don't have a tough SEC slate. The only tough road game they have is at Texas A&M to end the season. Their other two road games are Vandy and Arkansas. Their home schedule is even laced with advantages such as they get Kentucky at home late in the season when it will be cool in Kentucky and still hot in Texas. They get Georgia during Nascar week limiting Dawg fans from traveling. They get Florida the week after playing Vandy.
With that said, where are Texas' losable games? At Michigan, vs Oklahoma, vs Georgia, at Texas A&M, SEC Championship.
I doubt anything is going to keep traveling Georgia fans from going to that game. If they have to stay 2 hours or more away, they’ll do it. Go Dawgs!
I’ll definitely be grilling steaks and burgers that day!
I see and hear a fatal flaw in the Longhorns attitude…..Sark/Longhorns have finally realized some success….they have stepped up to become a member of the strongest conference in America…..but it seems to have inflated their heads with grandiose expectations, the opinion that they are unbeatable….especially at home…..they have some really talented players…..depth is questionable but to Bevo, they will destroy all comers….what Sark/The Longhorns fail to realize is Kirby's daily admonition… “Every team we play is the best that week. Please understand that,” Smart said. “In the SEC humility is a week away. I have a ton of respect for Sark and the job he does."…….Sark/The Longhorns will learn that in the SEC, "humility is only a week away"!
Michigan, Oklahoma, Georgia, Arkansas, and Texas A&M are all potential humbling outings……loss 5 and Sark is job hunting.
