MG brings up a point in #4 that most fans have not considered.

Last season CKS kept the training wheels on CBeck for quite a few early games to see if Beck could play mistake free football. And then later to build his confidence.

Now Beck is ready to go full Lamborghini but doesn't have experienced receivers Bowers, McConkey or MRJ to lean on. Except for Bell, Lovette and maybe ASmith (if he can consistently catch), all of Becks receivers (including out of the backfield) are new.

Fans take for granted that all 3 of those players will stay healthy and all the other's will know the routes, checks and where to be. RThomas was not on the team long enough to learn all that. It can take a while. There is a lot of talent to work with. But, with this schedule, new guys need to get in sync w/Beck quickly.

I'm not especially worried, but I still will be a bit relieved when I see Beck not overthrowing the ball like he was in Spring G Day. He definitely got it together in the end and if he can start that way, we should be in excellent shape.

Delp got some quality reps during Brock’s absence. Yurosek is a pro and should help. While we do lose a bunch of production, I think we bring back enough to mitigate the loss.

Not a question of production. There is plenty of talent to produce.

The question MG brings up is whether or how soon the new guys can be completely in sync with Beck. You saw it on G Day. Beck did not look sharp or like last year. That's a function of practice and chemistry with the receivers.

We got a little spoiled by Beck last year. Except for the unexplainable lack of connection on long balls, Beck looked like the 2nd coming of Aaron Rodgers. Putting the ball accurately on the right guys on a line.

Now he has got new guys in bigger roles and new guys he hasn't played with much. That was the point. Not about talent. About cohesion.

    6. Should DN writers be required to proof their stories this season, before they are released?
