My money's on Bolden having the biggest impact because 1) he's among the most talented freshmen, 2) he's earned high praise from Smart, and 3) it's probably our thinnest position. But Robinson could edge him if he takes over one of the CB positions in the second half of the year.
Also, don't rest on Joseph Jonah-Ajonye. If Mykel spends most of his time at edge, Jonah-Ajonye would be the No. 2 true DE.
Unless there are injuries, the two highly rated freshman LBs aren't likely to get a lot of playing time, given the quality and depth we have at the two ILB positions. That seems just as much the case the problem for Frazier and White — we've got so much talent at RB and WR that they would have to do very spectacular things in very few opportunities to move up in the rotation.
Q. Johnson is turning heads from what I’ve heard
By my quick count The Dawgs have 35 plus true freshman, with the majority starting on teams not in the top half of the SEC. Given the opportunity many will break the ceiling this year. I'm counting on the true starters to establish dominance early on each team we face, thus giving opportunity and experience to these freshman….all you have to do in the Smart system is prove/demonstrate you give The Dawgs the best chance to win the game……maybe things will work out to where we have first half starters and second half starters?? Likewise, perusing the roster, I'm overwhelmed with the non starting Jr's, Soph's and Red Shirt Freshman……maybe let's do first, second, third starters and forth quarter "drive the final nail in the coffin" starters….
This is one of the many, many joys I find in college football—watching these youngsters develop.
