ATHENS — There’s zero question as to who the No. 1 player in the quarterback room is. That would be Carson Beck, who is firmly entrenched as the starting quarterback.

Next year will be such a complete different situation for the Dawgs than this season. We have a veteran QB at the helm this year that will probably be in the Heisman race. Next season, who knows? Unless Beck gets injured (God forbid), with our schedule, I don't expect Stockton or any of those guys to get much playing time. So I predict if all (3) of these guys stick around, there will be a real battle for the starting role. I'm not ready to give it automatically to Gunner when I haven't seen the other guys perform after some time in the system. And honestly, I'm not ruling out Kirby going to the portal if he doesn't think he has the caliber of QB we need to face another gauntlet of a regular season schedule next season. Though I do think the portal is less likely now since Rashada has come on board, but I'm not ruling it out.

    @ MontanaDawg

I didn't gve you the downvote, I think thats cowardly, as I'm all for a little friendly difference of opinion, but I do believe that GS must get as much playing time as possible, if he's your clear cut number 2 guy. . If you aren't 100% sure GS is your man heading into next year (Puglisi/Rashada)then you owe it to yourself to see all three of the backups whenever possible. THe question is how many games ae going to be over by the 4th quarter ?

THe word from some insiders who have been at practice is that as you said, Pray that CB stays healthy. THere's just a big drop off behind him.

I stared blankly at Rashada's name and was confused why I wasn't more excited about the 6th best QB of the class (just barely missing 5 star level) being on our team. Then I looked him up again and remembered why.

    6/26/22 - Commits to Miami
    11/10/22 - Decommits from Miami
11/10/22 - Commits to Florida (same day!)
    12/21/22 - SIGNS with Florida
01/20/23 - Decommits from Florida (one month after SIGNING!)
02/02/23 - SIGNS with Arizona State (without even taking an official visit)

    04/18/24 - Enters Transfer Portal
04/25/24 - SIGNS with us (1 week after entering portal)

I certainly wish the best for him and HOPE it works out, but if I was given a choice to have either someone like Rashada or Puglisi/Stockton remain on the team, I'd choose Puglisi/Stockton any day of the week just for their commitment to the program. Beck shows us what it means to be a 4-star QB that had fairly low expectations but instead stay with us and fight for the job and now be a Heisman odds leader (technically a close 2nd, but that will change throughout the year).

  • Jaden was promised a very large payment by Florida, one he even signed a contract for. Then they reneged on said payment so he wanted to leave. They let him go and he had not many choices. And he is a legacy to Arizona State.

After that I’m not sure what happened. If he helps make our team better with providing competition I say welcome aboard. Word is a good teammate and getting along with everyone.

How much longer is Kirby going to watch this mess?

  • deputydogdeputydog ✭✭✭✭ Senior

Do these receivers even know the ball is coming?

  • deputydogdeputydog ✭✭✭✭ Senior

I can safely say there is not going to be even a SEC championship forget about winning it all. A bad QB and now the recievers are dropping balls. There are just too many variables with this team. Beck going off boil is just too much.

Beck deflates the whole team. Kirby needs to sort this out.
