" Georgia knows it needs to up its sack production from a season ago, when it had only 30 in 14 games. And with the defensive line dealing with injuries at the moment, it will have to lean more on the outside linebacker room to generate pressure while still being stout in the run game. "

Exactly. This is the biggest area of needed improvement for the defense. These guys need to dial it up and deliver havoc this season if we want to potentially play for a National Championship. Glad to hear Johnson is shining bright as a freshman.

Another priority is to stop the run. Not doing terribly well in that department hurt us last year.

    Go, Dawgs!

No fooling. Our d-line looked like middle schoolers playing against men in the SEC championship. The effort was cringe worthy.

This prospect has always been very intriguing. Size, speed and athleticism. High ceiling who will undoubtedly shine in time. With development.

What is interesting is "with the defensive line dealing with injuries" the UGA staff seems to want to continue to shift players from DL (GHarris, MWilliams, TID, JJA, Q) to OLB. Add in Chambliss, JWalker, DWilson MPemba, etc makes you wonder why you need 9 players at one OLB position?

I get that it is camp and coaches want to see what position-flex players might have. But 9 players at OLB? The most logical reason is that RDE and OLB are basically interchangeable in most UGA defensive alignments.

Agree. Love to see more sacks and QB hurries. Get the rival QB out of his rhythm. Get him shook up which should lead to inaccurate passes and hopefully more INT’s. But also need to plug the run game up to. Hopefully we’ll see better play out of our DL they Know they are under a microscope and hopefully will rise to the challenge. Go Dawgs !!
