Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Once again ETN not playing…….no official announcement why give clemsux a heads up……
I will bet Smart has a lot of say. This is not the UGA Admin of the Richt era. This administration actually wants to win.
Also, charges were dropped. What in the world would they be suspending him for?
Administration made the call over objections from the AD and Kirby is what I was told.
Is what it is…….
Not being argumentative but I do think Kirby ran it up a little on FSU last year.
I disagree. Carson Beck didn’t take a single snap in the second half. Jackson Muschamp even saw the playing field.
The fact is that our 4th and 5th string was still better and more motivated than FSU. Outside of telling your team to fall down short of the goal line, he had no way to further slow the scoring.
drinking underage and then driving
Charges dropped. He did not get a DUI. So what is the crime?
They could likely suspend half of the student body for that.
I hear what you are saying. But in years past when the backups came in the offense got real vanilla. Rarely threw the ball.
Seemed to me they were still very much trying to score.
Im probably wrong about this. I know some of that has changed with Kirby and the backups get to do more these days. Also it was a bowl game and why not let those guys get meaningful action.
But I do believe Kirby wanted to put up a number so his argument after the game that games like this are not good was there.
The crime seems to be guilt by association. I dont think this happens if you dont have the unfortunate history UGA has had with this.
It's more than that I would bet.
Does it always have to be a crime charge that sticks to merit a suspension? I recall "breaking team rules" as a suspendable offense in the past. Maybe optics and trying to teach a young man a life-saving lesson about leadership and accountability is the aim here and not just punishment for a legal charge.
optics after the Devon Willock death. He was at a UGA function. He drank. Then he drove. Those things matter.
half the student body doesn’t play football
That is true. Why are football players treated differently? I wonder what the "official" answer is to that question.
More layers and a different levels of exposure and scrutiny are applied to the athletes. Some athletes also have more resources provide in certain situations than non-athlete students, such as "liaisons" that show up to "assist" law enforcement in difficult situations.
You also don't read news stories about every student infraction and what the outcomes were, making it hard to determine how they stack up. There is also a student judiciary that hears allegations of student misconduct.
