If Carson goes to the air, Etienne suspension won't mean as much. Branson can get the tough yards on the ground. Cash Jones is a veteran RB and receiver…I look to see some big numbers from him. Nate Frazier is young, but could have an impact as well. He is fast, that's for certain. I believe UGA will run the score up today. Carson Beck will likely see his numbers over 300 yds. Hoping. No reason Georgia should not be in heavy player rotation by the 4th qtr.

    GO DAWGS!!!

    this is my hope too!

I know Kirby wants to keep his cards close with big games coming, but I think it's time to make a statement.

Plus, Carson has earned a chance to shine!

After each team had a drive. UGA offense- oline has been beaten and looks slow and weak. UGA defense- out of position and survived with 2 dropped passes. And thankful for the fabulous tackle by Bolden.

    Let's get this going DAWGS!!!!

    Mike Bobo is a buffoon.

First 15 plays are scripted, he has a supposedly top 2 favorite to win the Heisman in Beck, 4 OL back, and these behind the LOS garbage little JV plays are what he comes up with?!

Opening season game, all the prep time, and Bobo’s offense comes out looking like it is led by Joe Cox circa 2009!

Clemson is a real good tackling team. 3 catches with ZERO yards after catch. Excluding the pop pass on the 1st play.

3rd and 4 and throw a 2 yard pass, with constantly result in a 4th down.

2nd drive- the oline still looks over-matched.

So far, the Clemson's offense is bailing out the uga defense, with timely penalties and dropped passes.

what is it with some of you so-called fans that say Smart and Bobo want to keep it close to the vest with big games yet to play?

If you believe that, you are VERY ignorant to college football. Sorry, not sorry.

This is a top 25 matchup, and every single game is YUGE outside of the what, 2 pancake teams on the schedule.

It is 2024, their playbooks are dozens of pages, and all kinds of different iterations you can change on plays just by changing the direction of one route.

Stop making excuses for Bobo and the Dawgs coming out looking like this, just call it what it is-they look scared and unprepared and the gameplan to begin this game is not a great example of a team with confidence to win it all.

    It is quite embarrassing, IMO.

Now they can turn it around on the second half, there is a lot of game left but currently? This is ridiculous.

Perhaps benching your 1st string running back might be a problem?

  • budknox310budknox310 Posts: 852 ✭✭✭✭ Senior

I agree, but they kinda had to. This off-field crap is getting old.

They need to wake up. Noon games are always slow at the beginning for UGA. Also, they probably need to try another running back.

That drive was classic kirby. Get a great play, and then a 3rd down, and give up on the drive and settle for a garbage 4 yard play.

Pathetic first half. Beck throws the ball down the field one time the entire half. Right now, the Bulldogs are pretenders, not contenders. Bobo back to his old ways. Call a play up the middle, and then throw to the sidelines. No imagination.

    1st half observations:

    • 34 yards rushing. Wow. With or without Etienne, I would have thought our outstanding OL would have opened up some holes. Clemson controlling the LOS for the most part.
    • Pretty conservative play calling by Bobo. A lot of swing passes and dinks.
    • Defense looks pretty good. Everette playing well.
    • Beck looks a little unsure of himself. A couple of poor passes but otherwise OK. O- line being challenged by Clemson. Beck hasn't had a very clean pocket.

A defensive game so far. Both teams offenses looking less than stellar.
