Boiling Peanuts

Currently boiling my 3rd batch, Kroger has 1/4 bushel for $9.99 which is price from 2 years ago, at least at my store in Evans,Ga. The 1/4 bushel is a good fit for my turkey cooker. Empty bag into pot, fill to about 2 inches from top with water add 1 box of salt. Cook on low boil for 2 or 21/2 hours then let soak in salt brine for 2 or 3 hours.

I am the star of the neighborhood, at least for moment. lol

Yes, called green as in just harvested and washed. These come from Hawkinsville, ga. Very clean as opposed to my youth when we took them out of ground and washed multiple times but never got the grit out.

One of my favorites!!! My dad and a few of my Uncles on both sides spent time perfecting their BP art. Just so freakin good!!!

It took me awhile to turn my Canadian friends onto them. They have a hard time thinking of a soft peanut! Like I say, it took awhile, but that’s another story.

P.S. - If I were near Evans, I bet I could find you neighborhood. I’ve a a nose for these thing!!! 😂 I love some well made Boiled Peanuts!!! They are hard to beat!!!

I am across the river near Modoc SC, about 18 miles into Evans, only 1 grocery store in McCormick, a Food LIon.

Buy the canned boiled peanuts in the grocery store (peanut patch). Pour into a pot and add water to cover and simmer for an hour. Just as good if not better. They are already seasoned.

Best thing to do is get the Hardy Farms green peanuts, rinse 3 times, pick stems off.

Get a 5 quart insta pot, fill with water to the line, add 1/2 cup of sea salt. Set InstaPot to pressure cook for one hour. Let steam naturally release for 30 mins. Best boiled peanuts ive ever ate.

Just a suggestion for some redneck caviar.

Slightly off topic but…does anyone recall a very early SNL skit where "George Washington Carver" was experimenting trying to find a use for peanuts and one of his experiments was using a peanut as a phonograph needle? I still can chuckle thinking about that.

I started using my Instapot last year for peanuts. Absolutely love them. My freezer is full for this football season and then some. Go Dawgs!
