ATHENS — One of the most important parts of the Georgia football team is woefully short of game experience this season, and Kirby Smart wants it that way.

little talked about statistic. If Woodring continues on the same scoring path that he is on, he will break the all time NCAA scoring record set last year by Bamas kicker. Sometimes I wonder if Kirby knew that when he started him as a freshman.

After last week's abysmal performance against SC I'd wager UK had a come to Jesus week at practice. I anticipate a much improved performance from them this week. I believe CKS when he says this will be a tough, physical game.

    Go Dawgs!

Love the way the DAWGS look so far this year. Only 2 potential concerns as the schedule gets tougher.

1). Beck seems to miss quite a few open receivers on long passes. Not new, but not necessarily any better - even the long completion to Smith (he had to break stride for the catch) this season vs. last. It hasn't hurt yet but there were at least 2-3 balls in that Tn. Tech game that were slight misses that would've been scores. Those scores will be needed as the season progresses.

2). Run defense. Definitely a stout defense but stopping the run has looked a bit suspect so far. Even Tn Tech seemed to pick up 5-6 yards per run if you remove the tackles for loss. I recognize those definitely count but straight up defending the run leaves something to be desired.

Hoping today goes along way to fixing these small problems. If those are fixed, this team will be very tough to beat. Go DAWGS.

I can't see the kickoff return team getting that many opportunities against KY. So far this season the Dawgs D have defended 21 drives between the first two games. 5 of those drives made it across the 50 yard line, and 2 of those 5 were the last drives of the game for both games, resulting in 6 total points. That's pretty stout. I love that Beck and Woodring have this thing going. Beck never wants to see Woodring take the field.

I'm sorry, I meant Brett Thorson.
