First time UGA looked like a Mark Richt team instead of. Kirby Smart team in a long while.

Has anyone ever faced 4 of the top 5 teams other than itself in the rankings ever in the regular season. These new rankings underscore UGA’s historically difficult schedule.

By contrast, #1 Texas plays only one top 5 team (UGA #2) #3OSU none (8&9 Oregon/Penn State are the highest), #4 Bama two (UGA/Tenn), #5 Ole Miss (UGA), #6 Tennessee two (UGA/Bama)

Will UGA get credit for it this year or will it be conveniently dismissed like its schedule last year and historic win streak?

@BarkingDawg…Understand what you are saying. Based on many of our top opponents rising in the polls, it looks like we might end up with the toughest schedule of any team this year. Florida has it bad, but they still don't face our gauntlet.

No sense in complaining about it. Same schedule of opponents next year which is a bigger concern, because we will be breaking in a new starting QB. We just need to take it week to week and play like we are capable of playing. We probably won't win them all, but we need to stay competitive and tough even if we lose. The CFP Committee will certainly take SOS into account. I expect the Dawgs to make the playoffs, but I don't expect us to be undefeated at the end of the regular season. What I don't want is a half-hearted effort or sloppy play that loses us a game. THAT will not be tolerated by Kirby, and we will probably be penalized by the CFP Committee in that regard.

I'm ok with going about our business without the #1 ranking distraction. I think the hype may have gone to some of our players heads. After the poor performance at Kentucky I think some attitude adjustments are in order. Stay humble.

    Go Dawgs!
